How to config custom model #4145

That warning means opencodex does not have built-in metadata for the codestral model ID and is falling back to generic defaults (likely wrong context window and token limits). opencodex ships model metadata in scripts/model-metadata.source.json. If codestral is not in there, you can add it. Check the dashboard at localhost:10100 - under provider settings there may be a way to define custom model metadata including context length. Alternatively, if you are routing through Mistral API, try using the exact model ID Mistral expects - codestral-latest or codestral-2405 rather than just codestral. The metadata lookup may be matching on the exact string. The fallback works but can degrade performance if the context window assumption is wrong. Worth checking Mistral docs for the exact context length and making sure it matches what opencodex is using. |
