Feature: Server list #182

Description

@LRTNZ

Problem

Whenever people want to join up to a server, they require the host to give them the IP address each time, and enter it in manually. When the person who is hosting the server has a static IP address they are hosting from, this is a bit silly to be entering in an IP address every time.

Potential Solution

For the Clients: To implement a menu, maybe like Minecraft's Server Selection, where you can have a few server addresses saved, to make it more seamless to get going in a session.

For the Hosts: To add in a tickbox to the settings for "Host Game" that lets them choose to remember the settings they want to use to host the game with each time. Saves them needing to enter in the password, and port, every time they go to start the server.

Progress

  • Save host settings
  • Save join settings
  • Provide server list

    If #344 is accepted, it gets a couple steps closer to improving the experience of finding games, especially since you can set an alias.

    Because the API server only maintains the directory, there isn't too much of a performance penalty for a much better experience
