I have absolutely no confidence in paying for a Freebuff plan that way.
When selecting Muse Spark 1.3 in the model picker, Freebuff shows:
Muse Spark 1.3 is no longer available in Freebuff. We recommend using GLM 5.3 Flash instead.
but the session automatically falls back to MiMo 2.5. After that, it becomes impossible to leave that fallback session and switch to the recommended model.
Steps to reproduce
- Open Freebuff model selector and pick
Muse Spark 1.3.
- Notice the deprecation notice and the status
MiMo 2.5 · 56m left / × End session.
- Run
/end-session (or click End session) to end the fallback session.
- Try to select the recommended model
GLM 5.3 Flash (or any other model).
Actual behavior
-
/end-session appears to fail silently / does not clear the session (see screenshot 1 — deprecation + fallback to MiMo 2.5).
-
When trying to switch to GLM 5.3 Flash, Freebuff shows:
You're already in an active session on MiMo 2.5, and ending it failed, so the switch to GLM 5.3 Flash was not applied. Run /end-session, then pick GLM 5.3 Flash. (Sessions end on their own after 1 hour.)
(see screenshot 2 — same End session button still present).
-
Result: the user is locked to MiMo 2.5 for the full 1-hour session timeout, even though they never wanted that model. The only workaround is to wait ~1 hour.
Expected behavior
- Either:
- (a) Selecting a deprecated model should not start a fallback session until the user confirms the alternative, or it should auto-migrate to the recommended model (GLM 5.3 Flash) directly; or
- (b)
/end-session / End session should reliably terminate the fallback session immediately so the user can switch models without waiting an hour.
- At minimum, the error "ending it failed" should not leave the session in a zombie state.
Environment
- Freebuff CLI (web UI) —
Directory ~ session
- Models involved:
Muse Spark 1.3 (deprecated) → fallback MiMo 2.5 → attempted GLM 5.3 Flash
- Reproducible in sequence (see screenshots in order).

Impact
Users who accidentally or intentionally pick a deprecated model are forced to stay on an unwanted model for an hour. The recommendation is unactionable because the session cannot be ended.
