Describe your proposed solution

Currently, the download/update cache (archive file for traditional download mode, and diff file for sophons mode) is stored in installation folder. This means during download/update, the disk will be written approx twice of the installation size. This is not friendly to SSD users since SSD lifespan is limited for total witten data amount.
If we can select a temp folder, we can put this folder on somewhere written data won't damage the storage lifespan or the disk is nearly dead which can be abused (e.g. ramdisk, some old small HDD, some SSD with 0E issue that are ready to break down some time)

Describe alternatives you've considered

Keep download/update cache in memory, but this is not applicable for those devices without large ram but has storage nearly dead.

File system filter drivers, which can be developed independently without changing main program. But developing drivers seems to be more difficult and drivers need EV signature which may be expensive.
