The old custom-prompts mechanism has been deprecated. Please use
Skills instead: define reusable instructions as a skill and invoke
it with $skill rather than relying on custom prompts. This is now the recommended approach for shared, reusable Codex behavior.
Closing as resolved. Codex deprecated custom prompts, which is why the slash commands OpenSpec used to install stopped registering. #1283 switched the Codex integration to skills-only: openspec init --tools codex now installs skills under .codex/skills/ (no prompt files), which current Codex versions recognize. Verified on current main.
The change ships with the next release. If a fresh init still misbehaves after that, please open a new issue with the output.

Yeah what @Veath said, we'll look to make this more robust, especially around documentation.
