GitHub has made their Ubuntu 26.04 runners generally available not too long ago (here).
As a maintainer of the IBM zDNN backend for llama.cpp, it would be great if there are Ubuntu 26.04 runners available as it makes GCC 15 available for our CD pipeline, and it can cross-compile IBM z17 binaries where the IBM zDNN backend can be made available as a release binary.
May I know if the Ubuntu 26.04 is being worked on currently, and if there is a timeline to it?
@taronaeo We are actively working on adding support for Ubuntu 26.04. The relevant PRs are available here.
We have completed testing on Power and will begin testing on the z side soon. The PRs are currently under review.
Once the PRs are merged, we plan to include Ubuntu 26.04 support in our monthly maintenance at the end of October or in the next 2.0 release, which is tentatively planned for next month.

@taronaeo We’ve added support for Ubuntu 26.04 in production. Please use the appropriate runner label to utilize it. You can find the list of supported images here: https://github.com/IBM/actionspz/blob/main/docs/supported-images.txt

Thank you very much! I'll try it once I'm back from vacation :)
