Genesis has not produced a promotable candidate yet (retry_pending_capability). Rejected validation feedback is preserved as repair memory, and the genesis-autonomous label remains active for the next autonomous retry.

Agentic Lab strategy qwen3_fallback did not produce a verified promotion. repair status: retry_pending_capability. The Issue remains open and authoritative. The next Agentic Lab pass continues on this same Issue; no child/successor/capability Issue is created. Worker run: 35332303954.

Genesis identified a repair-capability dependency after trying materially different methods. Parent Issue #433 stays open but is paused. Capability Issue #792 must be verified before this Issue resumes. Blocker: retry_pending_capability.

Add mmproj device resolver capability for #433

Maintainer-assisted resolution completed for #433 while Genesis is still in development.

Implemented in the exact requested target genesis/learned_capabilities.py:

Added registered capability mmproj_device_resolver_433.
Explicit mmproj device selection has highest precedence.
The legacy MTMD_BACKEND_DEVICE-style value is used as the backward-compatible fallback.
If neither is supplied, Genesis deterministically selects the first available device.
Explicit unavailable selections fail safely instead of silently routing to the wrong backend.
The capability is pure: it does not read process environment or touch devices at import time.

Focused local checks covered:

explicit request overriding legacy env value;
legacy fallback;
deterministic default;
unavailable explicit request rejection;
bounded available-device list.
