Missing load.py in .deb package causes Step 6 failure (ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'load') #22
Environment:
Host: Proxmox VE 7 (PVE7)
Guest OS: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (or 26.04)
GPU: Intel Arc B580 (Passed through to the Guest OS)
Package: xestrata-contrib-cuda13.1_0.1.43-2_amd64.deb
Description:
First of all, thank you for creating such an amazing tool!
During the setup process, Step 6 fails when preparing the Q2_0 model because the load.py file is missing from the package.
Note that this issue only occurs with the Q2_0 model; other quantization formats like IQ3_S and IQ2_XS work perfectly fine without this file.
Error log:
=== Step 6: preparing the model for Strata ===

Setup stopped. Fix the item above and run it again - everything already done is kept and skipped.
Root cause & Workaround:
The file load.py does not exist in /usr/share/xestrata/tools/. I confirmed that downloading the missing file manually via the following command fixes the issue:
Fixed: the deb and rpm packages and the Windows 7z now include ref/ (load.py), which the Q2_0 conversion in setup's step 6 imports. This will be in the next release. Until then, your workaround (copying ref/load.py into /usr/share/xestrata/tools/) is fine. Thank you for the report and the root cause.
