Summary

  • Add a Modding menu with shortcuts to the installed game folder and Steam Workshop content.
  • Add full game-folder snapshots in a hidden per-library NotProton directory, separate from Wine-prefix backups.
  • Add guarded restore with an automatic rollback snapshot of the current game files.
  • Refuse snapshots while the Wine prefix is in use, reject symlinked snapshot roots, and keep snapshots discoverable after uninstall.
  • Add focused tests for path resolution, backup/restore, rollback, uninstall persistence, symlink refusal, and confirmation text.

Validation

  • swift build --package-path app passes.
  • PrefixStoreTests: 29 passed.
  • PrefixPromptTests: 11 passed.
  • git diff --check passes.
  • Full local run in the PR worktree: 478 tests; the Steam installer suite is the only failing suite (21 issues, 26 total). Its failures report missing generated bridge components (NotProton carries no components). The CI workflow builds these artifacts before tests; no CI checks have been reported yet.

This adds manual file access and rollback; it does not install arbitrary mod archives.

Nice idea. I'll try to get this reviewed soon. Currently distracted by unrelated quality of life work, really complex stuff that has to do with the actively running application and how macOS treats it.
