[馃悰 Bug]: [py] linters, typing broken with selenium.webdriver lazy imports聽#17163

Description

@niklasmohrin

Description

In our code we import from selenium.webdriver. Our code is checked with pylint which now throws error like:

E0611: No name 'ActionChains' in module 'selenium.webdriver' (no-name-in-module)

Notably, all tests still pass because the import works at runtime.

The PR introducing this is #16993. In a similar issue with pylint (pylint-dev/pylint#9553), the proposed solution was to provide .pyi files.

The context in which this occurred to me is here: https://redirect.github.com/e-valuation/EvaP/pull/2627

Reproducible Code

from selenium.webdriver import ActionChains

Debugging Logs

$ pylint --version
pylint 4.0.4
astroid 4.0.3
Python 3.13.7 (main, Aug 14 2025, 11:12:11) [GCC 14.3.0]
$ python -c 'from importlib.metadata import version; print(version("selenium"))'
4.41.0

鈩癸笍 Last known working version: 4.39.0
