Dashboard: session previews clip text mid-line and expose raw Codex reply payloads #1286

Closed

Description

@MertensMing

Problem

The dashboard cuts through the last visible line of a session preview.
The text ends without an ellipsis.
This makes the row look broken.

A Codex question reply also appears as raw XML-like markup and JSON.
The preview shows <send_user_message_question_reply> and escaped questionItemId data.
The readable answer is buried in this payload.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Run teamai dashboard.
  2. Open the overview or the execution page.
  3. Use Codex in the selected workspace.
  4. Answer a question from request_user_input_async.
  5. Check the latest user prompt in the session table.

A long multiline prompt can also expose the clipping.

Actual result

The preview cuts through a line of text.
There is no clear truncation indicator.
The next metadata line appears immediately below the clipped preview.

Expected result

The preview should end at a complete line boundary.
Long previews should show an ellipsis or a clear expand control.
The details view should preserve the full text.
Structured Codex replies should show the user's answer in the preview.

Environment

  • TeamAI CLI: 0.27.0 from npm
  • AI tool: Codex
  • OS: macOS
  • Dashboard language: Simplified Chinese
  • Theme: Light

Possible cause

The local source uses max-height: 3.2em and overflow: hidden for .session-excerpt.
This may clip text between line boundaries.
The session renderer also displays the last prompt directly.
These are possible causes, not a confirmed fix.

Please check long Chinese text, English text, and structured replies.

This was generated by AI during triage.

Fixed on main by #1287 (c15fc0db). No release contains it yet. Two notes for after it ships:

If the next release still shows the clipping or the raw payload, feel free to reopen.
