Dotfiles and setup

This repository contains the dotfiles for my system and setup script.

Requirements

For setup:

sudo apt install -y curl

For dotfiles:

sudo apt install -y git stow

Setup

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alvarofpp/dotfiles/refs/heads/main/setup.sh | bash

setup.sh will install Homebrew if it hasn't already been installed. Homebrew will be the package manager used to install all the terminal tools.

In addition to the conventional packages (git, curl, etc), the script installs the following packages:

Dotfiles

git clone git@github.com:alvarofpp/dotfiles.git
cd dotfiles
./stow.sh

On WSL2, windows/.wslconfig is copied to /mnt/c/Users/<you>/, not symlinked — Windows does not follow a symlink into the WSL ext4, and a symlinked .wslconfig is read as absent, with no error. It only takes effect after wsl --shutdown; check with grep MemTotal /proc/meminfo.

For my color theme I like Catppuccin.
