sqlite-vec compiles and runs on Raspberry Pis. A few ideas I have to better support that platform include:

  • Pre-compiled extensions available on Github Releases
  • Build and serve Python wheels + NPM package + Gems for Raspberry Pis
  • Dedicated documentation page

Will need special support for Pi vs Pi Zero, I think. I only have a Raspberry 3 to test but that should be fine. Will likely cross-compile on Github actions anyway

    I tested building sqlite-vec on a rpi5, and it worked ok :-). I think the steps I took were:

    git clone git@github.com:asg017/sqlite-vec.git
cd sqlite-vec
make
make sqlite-vec.h
make loadable
mv dist/vec0.so ../project/.venv/lib/python3.12/site-packages/sqlite_vec/ # or another version you are using

    Should instructions like these be on https://alexgarcia.xyz/sqlite-vec/installation.html#compiling ?
