add a utility function to print device information #175

Many samples print the platform name and the device name, but not all samples do so uniformly.

We might also want to print other information about the platform or device, such as the platform version, or the device version, or the driver version.

We should move this all to a utility function so all samples have similar look-and-feel and we only need to update one place to print additional information. We could also include an option to print verbose sample information vs. default sample information.
