Issue
The two files contradict each other about the data type and accepted values for the enableDockerAI setting (Gordon).
In settings-reference.md:
| Property |
Value |
| Default |
false |
| Accepted values (individuals) |
true, false |
| Accepted values (Business tier) |
"Disabled", "Enabled", "Always Enabled" |
| JSON key |
enableDockerAI |
This indicates Business tier uses string values like "Disabled", "Enabled", "Always Enabled".
In configure-json-file.md:
| enableDockerAI | | If allowBetaFeatures is true, setting enableDockerAI to true enables Gordon by default. You can independently control this setting from the allowBetaFeatures setting. | |
This describes it as a boolean setting (true/false), with no mention of the string values.
Why this matters
Administrators configuring the admin-settings.json file need to know the correct data type and accepted values. If they follow one page's guidance and it contradicts the other, their configuration may fail or behave unexpectedly. This is particularly confusing because the same JSON key (enableDockerAI) is documented with different value types in different contexts.
Suggested fix
Clarify whether:
- The setting accepts different value types depending on configuration method (Docker Home vs JSON file)
- One of the documents is incorrect
- There are separate settings for individuals vs Business tier
If the value type differs by configuration method, both documents should explain this clearly. If one is wrong, correct it to match the actual implementation.
