** INSTALLATIONS REQUIRED FOR GSTUDIO-MONGOKIT
#############################################################################################################


To start with, first install MongoDB and git (distributed version control system) using follwoing commands:

Install mongoDB (2.0.4): sudo apt-get install mongodb
(1) To start mongodb server: sudo service mongodb start
(2) To know mongodb server status: sudo service mongodb status
(3) To stop mongodb server: sudo service mongodb stop

Install git (1.7.9.5): sudo apt-get install git
NOTE: For more details visit - "http://git-scm.com/"


Install virtual python environment (python-virtualenv) and create a new one as follows:

Install virtual python environment (1.7.1.2): sudo apt-get install python-virtualenv
NOTE: It also installs additional package - python-pip (1.0).

Create a virtual python environment: virtualenv <name-for-virtualenv>
NOTE:
(1) It also installs additional packages inside the folder/environment - pip (1.0) and distribute.
(2) To activate (after changing directory to the virtualenv-folder): source bin/activate
(3) To deactivate: deactivate


Make sure you are in the newly created virtual python environment (i.e. move to virtualenv-folder and activate it).
Then, after activating it - install django framework & django-mongokit (Bridging Django to MongoDB with MongoKit ODM),
and GitPython (a python library used to interact with git repositories) within it; and also perform following steps:

Install django (1.5.2): pip install django
NOTE: For more details visit - "https://www.djangoproject.com/"

Install django-mongokit (0.2.6): pip install django-mongokit
NOTE:
(1) It also installs additional packages - mongokit (0.9.0), and pymongo (2.6).
(2) For more details visit - "https://pypi.python.org/pypi/django-mongokit"

Install GitPython (0.3.2.RC1): easy_install GitPython
NOTE:
(1) It also installs additional packages - async (0.6.1), gitdb (0.5.4), and smmap (0.8.2).
(2) For more details visit - "http://pythonhosted.org/GitPython/0.3.1/index.html"

To clone "gstudio-mongokit" project (inside the virtualenv-folder):
(1) Visit - "https://github.com/gnowledge/gstudio"
(2) Change branch from "master" to "mongokit"
(3) Copy HTTPS URL (on right hand side of the page)
(4) Type command: git clone --branch mongokit "paste-url-here"

To run "gstudio-mongokit" project, perform the following steps:
(1) Make sure you are in the virtual­env-folder and it's activated (source bin/activate).
(2) Move to gnowsys-­ndf folder: cd gstudio/gnowsys-ndf
(3) Start mongodb server: sudo service mongodb start
(4) Run the following command: python manage.py initgitrepos
(5) Run the following command: python manage.py runserver
