   I occurred the same error;
   you can git clone this repo
   cd /path/to/python-geohash
   /path/to/python3 setup.py install

   and then you can use bbox , neighbors ......

   This library is registered as python-geohash in PYPI, which is diffrent library from geohash and have some extended methods.
