Currently only EXT:sr_freecap is supported.

Do you think it would be possible to implement a validation mechanism like in EXT:powermail?

That way, we could implement custom captcha validators so we can include friendlycaptcha, hcaptcha etc.

Yes, that would be great.
Unfortunately, sr_freecap hasn't been updated since June 2025 and is causing problems in some of my projects under TYPO3 V13 (e.g., unreadable captchas).
