What this adds

  • a polished 14.5-second GIF and MP4 generated from the real offline CLI
  • a six-scene workflow receipt covering schema detection, citation removal, numeric cleanup, fractional-rate preservation, both CSV exports, and summary.json
  • a pinned source manifest, output/media SHA-256 receipts, and a verification guard
  • CI that reruns the existing tests and verifies source provenance, the real offline workflow, output hashes, and published media bytes
  • README previews and reproduction instructions

Exact scope

Recorded source: c57a3ad0dc8b111050f524a40cb7f02e93238f47

The recording uses only examples/crime-tables.html. It is explicitly labeled FICTIONAL OFFLINE FIXTURE and LIVE WIKIPEDIA UNVERIFIED. It does not claim current crime statistics or validate the live Wikipedia page.

Verified locally

  • python -m unittest discover -s tests -v — 3 passed
  • python demo/verify_demo.py — source manifest, actual CLI evidence, output hashes, and media bytes verified
  • full ffmpeg decode of GIF and MP4 — passed
  • MP4: H.264, 1280×720, 12 fps, 174 frames, 14.5 seconds
  • GIF: 960×540, 799,515 bytes
  • all 10 published Git blobs matched their local Git object IDs before branch creation

Runtime application code is unchanged because the pinned offline workflow already passed and produced the intended data.

  • real offline command exercised: python Crime-Web-Scraping.py --input examples/crime-tables.html --output <temp>
  • 3/3 unit/CLI tests passed
  • reproduced counts: counties=1, cities=1
  • recomputed displayed evidence: Example County [1] → Example County, 12,345 → 12345, decimal 1.38 preserved
  • python demo/verify_demo.py passed source-manifest, output-SHA, and media-byte checks
  • GIF and MP4 fully decoded with ffmpeg; six-scene contact sheet visually inspected after the final render
  • MP4: H.264, 1280×720, 12 fps, 174 frames, 14.5 s, SHA-256 063edd03612ec6de7ff62ac3d1d790ffd03508c1d0b82148f28190189c9f8cca
  • GIF: 960×540, 799,515 bytes, SHA-256 a0329f190f18efe0ff5d849eb57cd5a2f5e850e74a8ad6c9e8ea2d731eded3fc
  • all 10 published Git blobs matched their reviewed local object IDs; remote tree exactly matches the reviewed tree
  • both hosted verify jobs (push and PR) and GitGuardian succeeded; PR is mergeable/clean at this receipt

Scope remains explicit: FICTIONAL OFFLINE FIXTURE and LIVE WIKIPEDIA UNVERIFIED. No claim of current statistics or live-source verification. Runtime application code is unchanged because the exact pinned offline workflow already passed.

Independent parent review at exact hosted head 0cb4f411bb26471233e60b71ba69b397abd9ae6c / tree 1d00430ff8dedd2585914620a6f7c64d36895355:

  • reran python -m unittest discover -s tests -v: 3/3 passed
  • reran python demo/verify_demo.py: source manifest, actual offline CLI outputs, output hashes, and media bytes verified
  • fully decoded both published files with ffmpeg; MP4 is H.264 1280×720/14.5s and GIF is 960×540/14.51s
  • visually inspected stable opening, cleaning, and final-receipt frames; labels are legible and the display correctly preserves 1.38 while removing citations/grouping
  • local SHA-256: MP4 063edd03612ec6de7ff62ac3d1d790ffd03508c1d0b82148f28190189c9f8cca; GIF a0329f190f18efe0ff5d849eb57cd5a2f5e850e74a8ad6c9e8ea2d731eded3fc
  • remote media Git blobs 001a5eaef5ae00fa29b52479e438da9a74bc2a32 and 011b0dc8cf8de48790ecc0f7e04370dca3f5b147 match reviewed local objects
  • both hosted verify runs 38357018792 and 38357032882 plus GitGuardian are green

Scope is truthful: this is an actual provider-free run against the checked-in fictional fixture. It does not verify live Wikipedia or current crime data. Runtime application code is unchanged. Ready for the designated merger, followed by a post-main rerun and media/source verification.
