Reviewed exact head 0fb3dcbf6aad2ec5b8ffa34e102d8d23d4ae4af7. The exit/close supervision itself is much stronger and the focused bounded suites pass 83/83, but the deferred-cleanup implementation introduces two blocking filesystem hazards:
-
markScratchForDeferredCleanup()uses plainwriteFileSync(root/.ocx-deferred-cleanup). The producer/descendant can mutate this same scratch tree before the parent marks it, including placing that pathname as a symlink. The parent then follows it and truncates an arbitrary same-user target. Create the marker through the trusted/no-follow scratch primitive (and fail closed on an existing non-regular entry), not by pathname. -
sweepDeferredScratch()treats marker age (5 minutes) as proof that the writer is gone and recursively deletes the tree. The exact state being handled is an unconfirmed or descendant-held process, which may remain alive beyond that age; a later Lab task can therefore delete scratch under a live writer. A stale marker is not a termination lease. Sweep only with durable proof tied to the writer/process identity, or retain for explicit/manual cleanup when no release signal exists.
The current docs/comments claim the age margin outlives a plausible descendant, but there is no enforceable upper bound. The existing tests exercise timing and settlement, not either pathname/lease race.

@Ingwannu Addressed the marker-symlink and age-as-termination blockers in The executor no longer writes Real filesystem tests cover absent/ordinary/directory/symlink marker paths, unchanged external symlink-target bytes, an epoch-old marker during a later task, and late pipe closure without deletion. Native Linux Bun tests for the producer-deadline and fabric-task suites, typecheck, privacy and structure gates passed on the exact candidate: https://github.com/luvs01/opencodex/actions/runs/36094573478 . The helper workflow is absent from this PR's tree/ancestry. The tradeoff is explicit retained scratch requiring independent confirmation that writers stopped before manual cleanup. No descendant containment proof, full-suite completion or other-platform pass is claimed. Full current-head CI and independent review remain necessary; no change request was dismissed and no merge was performed. @coderabbitai review |

Summary
acbb1f75a0a9d4a19242a3ebf5c70a917d45ac0dremoves the unsafe deferred-cleanup marker write and age-based deletion sweep. If producer termination is unconfirmed, retain the scratch tree for manual review and emit a fixed warning without writing into producer-controlled paths.Verification
Latest follow-up:
acbb1f75a0a9d4a19242a3ebf5c70a917d45ac0d, a non-force fast-forward from0fb3dcbf6aad2ec5b8ffa34e102d8d23d4ae4af7.Exact-candidate native Bun 1.4.0 validation on a read-only Linux runner:
https://github.com/luvs01/opencodex/actions/runs/36094573478
Passed:
The task-level regressions use the existing deterministic fake-child supervision seam, real temporary filesystem trees, and actual executor cleanup behavior. They verify that a producer-controlled marker cannot truncate an external target or authorize later removal, including after output streams close. Existing deadline/result/confirmed-cleanup tests still run. This is not a proof of operating-system descendant containment or a real uninterruptible-process test.
The validation helper workflow is absent from the PR tree and ancestry. The local container has no usable Bun/network setup, so focused native validation ran on the disposable hosted runner. Full repository tests, test:changed, other operating systems and required current-head PR CI were not established by this focused run. No maintainer change request was dismissed and no merge was performed.
Operational tradeoff: retained scratch can consume disk space. After independently confirming all associated producer/descendant processes stopped, inspect and remove the exact retained tree manually. A timer, old marker or closed pipe is not sufficient confirmation. This follow-up introduces no recursive deletion fallback or new permission.
