The default run remains failed/incomplete at its 900-second bound; observed failures were compared against the exact Git base, with 181 selected cases per side yielding 170 passed/11 failed and no current-only failed assertion in that scope. The dispatch fence now signals the passthrough owner before the inference send and reuses the existing 401/429 Chat handoff. Closing as superseded by #6885, which carries this change with your authorship preserved ( The carry also fixes a P1 wire-handoff defect. Renegotiating to Auto at dispatch time could send a Chat payload to a Responses client. Four regressions now cover that case. Thank you for the original fix. |

Summary
Copilot can advertise models while explicitly denying named-model selection. Negotiate an Auto session before inference only when a nonempty credential-bound catalog marks every valid row
model_picker_enabled: false; preserve named routing when evidence is unknown or mixed.This PR now contains only automatic permission detection, catalog projection and session/intent/inference integration, including credential-changing recovery, cancellation, refusal mapping and ephemeral-token redaction. The configuration/GUI/CLI mode controls have been removed following maintainer triage and the contributor's delegated scope decision. Their complete prior implementation is preserved at
bca576474on local branchbackup/copilot-complete-20261008for a separate follow-up after the core lands.Implementation follows Microsoft's pinned public Auto service and intent router; it is an experimental integration, not a third-party API guarantee for every subscription.
