Restore files that originally lacked a final newline
When an existing shell startup file has no trailing newline, installation inserts one before the managed block, but removal deletes only the block range and leaves that newline behind. Consequently, disabling or removing the terminal command changes the user's original file from (for example) export FOO=bar to export FOO=bar\n; include the separator in the owned range or otherwise remember and remove it during cleanup.

Stop writing a new backup on every change.
change() gives every change with before bytes a new backups/<uuid> path. recover_with writes the full before bytes to that path. Nothing ever deletes backups.
Repositioning a block, rewriting the shim or helper, and removing an rc block each add one more copy, up to 8 MiB each. These copies often contain the user's shell secrets. Only the first rc backup is recorded. Store::open also checks every backup on each open, so each open gets slower as the directory grows.

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Limit orphan-journal to files that cleanup can remove.
journal_issues (Lines 1087-1092) treats any directory entry in journal/ that is not referenced as an orphan. clean_unreferenced (Lines 702-711) deletes only names that pass journal_path. The two functions use different rules, so some files are reported forever and never removed:
- Assume the process dies inside
atomic()whilepreparewrites a journal (Line 912). The temporary file.ocx-cli-<uuid>(Line 486) then stays injournal/. The cleanup at Line 533 never runs. - Any other non-journal file has the same effect. The test at Line 1341 creates
journal/unrelated.txtand expects it to survive cleanup.
On every later perform_in, issues.extend(store.journal_issues(&r)) (cli_command.rs Line 260) adds orphan-journal. configured then becomes false and phase becomes "partial". Repair and Remove cannot change this, because no code path deletes the file. The user sees "Some configuration could not be applied" until they delete the file by hand.
Make the two functions use the same rule. Either report only entries that pass journal_path, or also remove stale .ocx-cli-* temporary files in clean_unreferenced.
Proposed fix
let orphan = fs::read_dir(self.root.join("journal"))
.map(|v| {
- v.filter_map(|e| e.ok())
- .any(|e| !referenced.contains(e.path().to_string_lossy().as_ref()))
+ v.filter_map(|e| e.ok()).any(|e| {
+ let p = e.path().to_string_lossy().into_owned();
+ self.journal_path(&p) && !referenced.contains(p.as_str())
+ })
})
.unwrap_or(true);In clean_unreferenced, also remove entries whose file name starts with .ocx-cli-. The store holds the lock, so no atomic() call in this process can be writing them.

Reset dashboard navigation state when show_page opens cli.html.
Startup::should_navigate_dashboard() sets dashboard_loaded to true on the first dashboard navigation. show_page then navigates the main window to cli.html without clearing that state. A later startup::open_dashboard call skips navigate_dashboard through navigate_once, so the window can remain on the CLI page.
After w.navigate succeeds, re-arm dashboard navigation through a dedicated Startup method. Keep the reset conditional on successful navigation.
