Summary

Qoder CLI reports zero token counts unless its usage switch is on, so OpenCodex recorded zero usage for Qoder turns. buildQoderChildEnv() now turns the switch on in each region's scoped child environment: QODER_EXPOSE_TOKEN_USAGE=true for Global and QODERCN_EXPOSE_TOKEN_USAGE=true for CN. The CN build derives every variable name from a QODERCN_ prefix and has no QODER_ fallback for this switch (verified in the published @qodercn-ai/qoderclicn 1.1.71 bundle), so the Global name alone left CN usage at zero. Other coding-agent child environments and the shared usage parser are unchanged; the CLI's gated usage is Anthropic-shaped (input_tokens, output_tokens, cache fields), which the shared parser already reads. Tests pin both regions' variable names and their key allowlists, prompt isolation, and the spawned processes. The provider guide and owning structure document explain the per-region switch.

The original implementation is by @juzijia (0ea37227cea4846b3e06ce8c068a8b80c3e1338b). Maintainer updates merge origin/dev without rebasing, add documentation, and use the CN prefix for qodercn. The author reported nonzero usage with Qoder CLI 1.1.60 and 1.1.69 (Global); the maintainer validation below uses fixtures plus inspection of the published 1.1.71 Global and CN bundles and does not claim another live vendor run.

Verification

Maintainer validation on 2026-10-15 for head e031103720e6437d0cd37798e9834e0b1e531277 (base 7640a942b35044c974e534b84d5a8049f4a8ae9a). Each Bun command used fresh OPENCODEX_HOME=$(mktemp -d) CODEX_HOME=$(mktemp -d) sandboxes.

OCX_TEST_NO_QUEUE=1 bun scripts/test.ts --parallel=1 tests/providers/qoder-adapter.test.ts tests/adapters/coding-agent-tool-result-images.test.ts tests/ci-workflows/file-size-ratchet.test.ts
# 133 pass, 0 fail
bun run typecheck
# passed
bun run structure:check
# passed
git diff --check
# passed

Vendor check: in both 1.1.71 bundles the switch is read as process.env[prefix + "EXPOSE_TOKEN_USAGE"] with prefix = isCn ? "QODERCN_" : "QODER_" and no fallback name; the CN bundle sets isCn from its build-time brand "cn".

Resource exception: a completed bun run test:changed and the full local suite were not run because concurrent worktrees share the test lock; an earlier partial test:changed attempt is not counted as passing. The focused Qoder and shared adapter regressions above cover the changed behavior; broader and platform coverage is left to CI.

Full cross-platform CI was dispatched on ci/pr-7066 at the exact head above: https://github.com/lidge-jun/opencodex/actions/runs/38713297574 (queued at dispatch; not passing evidence yet).

Credential/environment review: the new variable is a constant usage-reporting switch, scoped to Qoder children. Global/CN PAT isolation, ambient prompt isolation, and the other providers' environment construction remain covered. No new credential destination, credential logging, or dependency was added. No GUI files changed.

Checklist

  • Scope stays focused and avoids unrelated cleanup.
  • Docs or release notes were updated when needed.
  • Security-sensitive changes were reviewed for secrets, auth, and unsafe defaults.

Review readiness checklist

New head; readiness attestation is left to the author or integrating maintainer after current-head CI/review.

  • Required local validation passed; commands, results, and any full-suite exception are documented.
  • I pushed my PR to a recent dev commit (at most 10 behind; a maintainer may still ask for the exact tip before merge).
  • I resolved all correct Codex and CodeRabbit findings.
  • My PR is ready for review.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Qoder’s Global and CN profiles now expose token usage to OpenCodex through their respective scoped CLI environments, allowing supported CLI versions to report token counts.
    • Token usage exposure is also enabled when Qoder runs with isolated credential environments. The setting is limited to the Qoder child environment.

📝 Walkthrough

The Qoder child environment now sets a region-specific token-usage exposure variable to "true". Tests cover Global and CN profiles, prompt-scoped environments, and spawned processes. Provider documentation and the adapter reference describe the settings.

Changes: Qoder child environment

buildQoderChildEnv selects QODER_ for non-China profiles and QODERCN_ for China profiles. It sets the corresponding exposure variable to "true" and uses the prefix for the system-prompt variable. Tests check profile-specific environment values and isolation. Documentation describes token-count reporting.

Change: Bug fix · Severity of issue fixed: Low

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to e0311

Qoder’s Global and CN child processes expose token usage through their respective switches, and the supplied tests and documentation cover both. No material merge risk remains.

The CN build derives its environment names from a QODERCN_ prefix with no
QODER_ fallback for EXPOSE_TOKEN_USAGE (qoderclicn 1.1.71), so CN usage stayed
zero. Set QODERCN_EXPOSE_TOKEN_USAGE for CN and pin both regions in tests/docs.

Landed on dev in f997eb8 via #7216 (your change is its own commit in that bundle, and the squash keeps your authorship as Co-authored-by). Thank you!
