Summary

  • Carry @oocheol's configurable usage model table idea from feat(cli): make the usage model table limit configurable #6436, source head bfcba56371a481a3c4ca0a96f6161811a2816d5b, onto current dev (7640a942b35044c974e534b84d5a8049f4a8ae9a). The original monolithic capability edit is replaced with the current observation capability shard and generated ocx reference.
  • ocx usage --top <1-1000> and ocx observe usage --top <1-1000> limit human model rows locally. Existing defaults remain 10 without search and 100 with search. The limit follows search filtering, supports more than 100 matches, preserves server order without search, and leaves totals and provider/account rows intact. Neither search nor top is sent as an API query parameter.
  • A valid --top is ignored with --json: the existing complete JSON report, or existing 100-row JSON search view, stays unchanged. Invalid limits exit 2 before any request, and every out-of-range or non-integer value reports --top must be an integer between 1 and 1000. The shared takeIntegerOption parser gained an optional max for this; existing callers keep their messages. This intentionally differs from the stale source branch's JSON-combination error and follows the triage decision to keep JSON unaffected.
  • Update English/Korean CLI docs, help, the generated skill surface and the CLI structure contract. The other locales' alias tables already list a shorter flag subset and do not contradict English. No GUI, dependency, auth, workflow or settings changes.

Closes #6436.

Verification

All commands used fresh OPENCODEX_HOME=$(mktemp -d) CODEX_HOME=$(mktemp -d) with offline fetch fixtures; no real proxy or settings were touched. OCX_TEST_NO_QUEUE=1 bypassed the global test queue for this isolated lane. Results are for head f75c3a7461b9ebe79d61066e490410b2d3bf9e8d unless noted.

  • Focused usage, dispatch, client-connect (another takeIntegerOption caller) and layout/size/skill/capability guards: bun scripts/test.ts --parallel=1 tests/cli/cli-usage-top.test.ts tests/cli/cli-usage-model-search.test.ts tests/cli/cli-usage-report.test.ts tests/cli/cli-usage-hub.test.ts tests/cli/cli-dispatch.test.ts tests/clients/client-connect.test.ts tests/test-layout.test.ts tests/test-layout-tooling.test.ts tests/ci-workflows/file-size-ratchet.test.ts tests/ci-workflows/skill-ocx.test.ts tests/cli/cli-capabilities.test.ts tests/cli/cli-capabilities-arguments.test.ts: 276 pass, 0 fail. Covers both dispatch aliases, real CLI help, defaults, inclusive limits, invalid values (0 1001 1.5 NaN -1 Infinity 1e2 0x10) and their message, totals/provider/account preservation, local-only query parameters, search above 100 matches, and unchanged JSON with and without search.
  • Manual edge check: a missing value (--top, --top --json) exits 2 with "--top requires a value", and a repeated --top 2 --top 3 exits 2 with "Unexpected argument(s)".
  • bun run test:changed --parallel=2 (the shared parser widens the import graph to 1328 files): 29859 pass, 39 skip, 11 fail, 4 errors, all outside this change. tests/service/service.test.ts and tests/service/service-sqlite-home.test.ts pass alone on both this branch and clean origin/dev (216 pass, 0 fail each), so they failed only under concurrent-worktree load. tests/cli/cli-access-audio-live.test.ts and tests/cli/sibling-home-client-sync.test.ts fail identically alone on clean origin/dev 7640a942b and on this branch (65 pass, 4 fail each), so those timeouts are pre-existing.
  • bun run typecheck, bun run skill:surface:check (all 9 generated files current), bun run structure:check, bun run privacy:scan, git diff --check: pass.
  • From the carry author's run on 68c22b191: cd docs-site && bun run build passed (577 pages), and the new test went red on clean origin/dev (11 pass, 12 expected fail). The review commit changes no docs.

Full local bun run test was omitted under the repository's concurrent-worktree resource exception (load average above 40). Cross-platform ci.yml (workflow_dispatch, lane=all) is queued on exact head f75c3a7461b9ebe79d61066e490410b2d3bf9e8d: https://github.com/lidge-jun/opencodex/actions/runs/38716893287. A queued run is not passing evidence.

Checklist

  • Scope stays focused and avoids unrelated cleanup.
  • Docs or release notes were updated when needed.
  • Security-sensitive changes were reviewed for secrets, auth, and unsafe defaults. No security-boundary changes are included.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added --top <1–1000> to usage reports to control the number of model rows shown in human-readable output. Defaults to 10 without search and 100 with search; the limit applies after filtering.
    • Invalid limits are rejected before data is fetched. JSON output ignores --top, and report totals remain unchanged.
  • Documentation
    • Updated usage and search help to describe the new option and its defaults.

Port the usage --top idea from #6436 (bfcba56) onto the capability shards and model-search formatter. Preserve existing JSON, report totals and the default search view.

📝 Walkthrough

The usage CLI adds --top <1-1000> to limit human-readable model rows. The option defaults to 10, or 100 with search. Search filtering occurs before the limit. The changes also update CLI references and add tests for limits, validation, and JSON behavior.

The new option works, but the usage alias’s skill reference does not show it. Update the alias metadata and regenerate the reference; this is a bounded documentation risk.

Every invalid --top value now reports '--top must be an integer between 1 and 1000' through the shared integer parser's optional max, instead of '>= 1' for low or non-numeric values and a separate range message for values above 1000.

Add --top to the alias capability metadata.

ocx usage --top is supported, but src/cli/capabilities-base.ts omits it from both the alias flags array and usage string. The generator uses those fields directly, so the published skill reference does not describe a supported option. Add the metadata and regenerate skills/ocx/references/01_surface_observe-system.md.
