…in failures Print an allowlisted RFC 6749/8628 error code next to the HTTP status, label unreachable or timed-out token endpoints, and report a Codex account namespace collision before the login starts instead of as a generic authentication failure.
The default ocx login path now prints only the public OAuth vocabulary, so the plain Error thrown for a provider name that collides with a Codex account namespace read as a generic authentication failure and broke cli-provider's login collision test. Throw a typed fixed-text error that the public message allowlist admits and label it configuration_error.

- Line 163: Move the `assertAnthropicInstanceLoginConfig` preflight into the
operation caught by `reportOAuthLoginError`, or route its failure through that
reporter, so `anthropic2` configuration errors print the fixed OAuth failure
line; add a process-level test covering this preflight failure.

Summary
ocx login <provider>in its default mode had no handler around the provider login, so a failed token exchange escaped to Bun's unhandled-error printer and wrote the provider's raw response text (and a stack trace) to stderr. Failed default-mode OAuth logins now print one fixed line and exit 1:The reason in parentheses is built only from fixed values: a validated HTTP status, the provider's OAuth
errorcode when it is one of the standard RFC 6749/6750/8628 codes,network_error/timeoutwhen the token endpoint could not be reached,configuration_errorfor a local setting that blocks the login, oroauth_authentication_failed. The message after the colon comes from the existing public OAuth vocabulary (publicOAuthAuthenticationErrorMessage).A provider name that collides with a configured Codex account namespace is a local configuration problem.
runLoginnow raises it as a typed, fixed-textOAuthProviderNamespaceCollisionErrorthat the public vocabulary admits. The terminal therefore still printsprovider name must not collide with a configured Codex account namespace(whichtests/cli/cli-provider.test.tsasserts) and does not fall back to the generic message. The dashboard login route reports the same fixed text.Pool 2 preflight now checks raw config ownership at the shared CLI entry point before tolerant loading or prompting. Its known custom-row collisions and config read/parse failures use
configuration_error. Status-less xAI token request wrappers usenetwork_errorwithout printing their cause.Docs: CLI reference (
providers-accounts.md), the runtime contract instructure/runtime.md, and the Anthropic account-pool contract.Compatible with #7170 (
