- Line 63: Update untrustedFixtureAncestor so filesystem errors from mkdirSync
and mkdtempSync are handled per candidate instead of escaping immediately;
record each failure reason and continue trying subsequent writable candidates,
while preserving the existing successful-candidate behavior.
- Around line 68-70: Update each suite setup caller of trustedFixtureRoot to
catch its specific placement failure and skip the suite conditionally via Bun,
passing the collected rejection message; preserve the TRUSTED_FIXTURE_DIR_ENV
override behavior and clarify temporary candidates as per-user subdirectories
rather than os.tmpdir() itself.

The real PATH-Bun fixtures were built beside the checkout, so a checkout under group-writable directories (macOS external volumes) made the product trust check reject every fixture, and an ancestor node_modules/bun could leak a runtime into the launcher fixture. A test-only helper now picks the first fixture base whose real ancestry passes the product rule (owner root or self, no group/other write) and holds no node_modules/bun. The product check is unchanged; a new regression file rebuilds a 0775 ancestor and proves the product still rejects it while fixture placement steps around it.
…7402) A candidate that passes the trust walk but cannot be created (read-only parent) is now recorded and skipped instead of aborting selection. Adds the per-user runtime dir as a candidate and spells out the override remedy in the fail-closed error.
Combined with #7387 on dev, a new line in scripts/test-layout/layout.json reached 2000 lines and tripped the file-size ratchet (NEW_OVERSIZED).

Summary
tests/cli/ocx-launcher-runtime.test.tsfailed 5–6 cases whenever the checkout sat under group-writable directories, as GOAT worktrees on/Volumes/...do. That meantbun run testandprepushcould never pass there. The product PATH-Bun trust check was right to reject those fixtures. The fixtures were in the wrong place: they were built beside the checkout (dirname(repoPath())/.tmp), so they inherited its group-writable ancestry. Separately, any ancestornode_modules/buncould leak a runtime into the launcher fixture throughrequire.resolve("bun/package.json").The product check (
src/lib/bun-path-runtime.mjs) is unchanged. The fix is test-only:tests/helpers/trusted-fixture-root.ts(never imported by production) picks the first fixture base whose real ancestry passes the product rule: owned by root or the current user, with no group/other write bit, and no ancestor holdingnode_modules/bun. Candidates are tried in order: an optionalOPENCODEX_TEST_TRUSTED_FIXTURE_DIR(still validated), the per-user temp dir, then the previous sibling.tmp. If none qualifies, it throws an error that names every rejected candidate and the reason, so the failure is not a mystery.ocx-launcher-runtime.test.tsandci-workflows/bun-runtime.test.tsboth used the same hardcoded base and now use the helper.tests/cli/ocx-launcher-fixture-trust.test.ts, registered inlayout.jsonandtest-layout-expected.json:chmod 0775ancestor and proves the real-filesystem product check still rejects a Bun under it without spawning, then accepts the same tree once only the group bit is cleared.node_modules/bunis refused.Fixes #7402
