feat(catalog): opt in to omitting disabled native models - #7889
Adds an opt-in, default-off omitDisabledNativeModels setting. With it on, native OpenAI rows the user has explicitly disabled are omitted from the generated Codex catalog instead of only being hidden, so Codex Desktop's remote allowlist (which can ignore visibility: "hide") no longer shows them.
The routed-row inheritance template is captured from a strict native source before omission (src/codex/catalog/native-template.ts), so routed rows are byte-identical with the setting on or off, including when the only supported template row is itself disabled.
The same omission applies on every surface that already suppressed native rows for native-alias compatibility: convergence, retained sync, the derived cache and Codex-shaped HTTP model discovery (desktopAllowlistSuppressedNativeSlugs no longer returns early when the opt-in is set).
With the setting off, output is unchanged (asserted against a pre-change byte digest snapshot).
Docs: configuration reference (catalog.md, providers.md), the Codex App models guide, and the matching locale pages; structure/catalog.md and structure/config.md own the contract.
Verification
Bun 1.4.4, Windows, at 1d69d7330 on dev fdc6dd82d:
tests/codex-integration/catalog-omit-disabled-native.test.ts (new, registered in layout.json and the expected-layout fixture): 11 pass, 0 fail, 0 skip, including flag-off byte equality, flag-on omission with identical routed rows, the template-only-from-disabled-row case, and retained-sync / HTTP discovery agreement.
tests/test-layout.test.ts + tests/test-layout-tooling.test.ts: 29 pass. bun run typecheck (2,229 files), bun run structure:check, file-size ratchet, bun run privacy:scan, docs-site build (601 pages): pass.
bun run test:changed did not finish locally: the catalog change fans out to most of the suite and the run hit the 900 s runner limit on a host shared with several worktrees (partial log only; the new file passed inside it). Failures seen in the partial log were in unrelated areas (Remote Workspace deadlines, OAuth refresh, account thresholds) and were not attributed; that coverage is left to this PR's test changed job.
NOT RUN: full bun run test, live Codex Desktop check.
Review
Three independent review rounds. Round 1 found that the retained inheritance template did not receive native metadata upgrades, so with the setting on, routed rows could drift from the flag-off output after an upgrade; 004231880 advances the retained template through the same upgrade and normalization as the visible native row (10 parity regressions that failed first). PR CI then found a new load-time import cycle (bundled → metadata → native-template), which ddb1b97a0 removes by passing the upgrade rule in from the two writers. Rounds 2 and 3 passed with no findings: flag-off output matches dev byte for byte across ten writer/source combinations, and the catalog/convergence suites pass (403 tests in round 3). 1333381d2 merges current dev.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added the omitDisabledNativeModels option, which defaults to false. When set to true, disabled native models are omitted from the catalog, cache, and Codex-compatible HTTP model list after sync.
A validated inheritance template is retained, preserving routed model metadata. Direct requests to disabled native model IDs continue to route normally.
Documentation
Updated configuration references and model guides across supported languages to describe the option, its default behavior, and its effects.

Walkthrough
The change adds the default-off omitDisabledNativeModels setting. When enabled, catalog generation and Codex model discovery omit eligible disabled native rows while retaining a validated native inheritance template. Direct requests retain their existing routing. Integration tests and documentation cover the behavior.

Explanation
Issue #7798 has coding requirements. The PR adds the default-off omitDisabledNativeModels schema and type in src/config/schema/config-schema.ts and src/types/config.ts. src/codex/catalog/native-omission.ts removes explicitly disabled native entries only when the option is exactly true. src/codex/catalog/native-template.ts validates and retains a native inheritance template before omission, and src/codex/catalog/parsing.ts uses that retained template for routed rows. src/codex/convergence.ts, src/codex/catalog/retained-sync.ts, and src/server/codex-model-list.ts apply the behavior to the required catalog, retained-sync, cache, and Codex-shaped discovery paths. src/codex/catalog/metadata.ts preserves native-alias suppression behavior. The reported tests cover disabled-row absence, account selectors, template-only-from-disabled-row cases, repeated syncs, no-op behavior, malformed values, routing, HTTP discovery, and flag-off equality. The implementation also preserves direct routing of disabled native models. The documented default hidden behavior and recovery behavior remain unchanged.

Explanation
The changed source files implement issue #7798 or support its public configuration contract. The new integration test and its layout registrations verify the requested behavior. structure/catalog.md, structure/config.md, src/types/config.ts, and the configuration reference pages document the new setting and its scope. The Codex models guide translations and configuration navigation update the same feature documentation. The retained-template normalization changes in src/codex/catalog/bundled.ts address the reported routed-row parity requirement. No concrete unrelated code or cleanup is established by the supplied whole-PR summary.

…of importing metadata
native-template.ts importing shouldUpgradeToUpstreamEntry from metadata.ts closed a load-time cycle metadata -> bundled -> native-template that the import-cycle ratchet rejects. Both writers already import the rule and now pass it in.
Qualify the "Native and routed model toggles" bullet for the new opt-in.
Lines 256-258 say that disabling a native GPT id "keeps its catalog entry but changes visibility to hide." They give no condition. With omitDisabledNativeModels: true, the row is omitted instead, as Lines 150-156 now state. The two sections disagree for that setting.
Add the default qualifier and a pointer to the option.
Proposed fix
-- Native GPT ids are bare slugs. Disabling one keeps its catalog entry but changes `visibility` to- `hide`, preserving the exact entry for a later re-enable; it hides the bare row and every- selector-qualified clone for that model from discovery.+- Native GPT ids are bare slugs. By default, disabling one keeps its catalog entry but changes+ `visibility` to `hide`, preserving the exact entry for a later re-enable; it hides the bare row+ and every selector-qualified clone for that model from discovery. With+ [`omitDisabledNativeModels: true`](/reference/configuration/catalog/), those rows are omitted instead.
Make the matching update in the translated pages (ko, zh-cn, zh-tw, tr, ja, ru, fr). They contain the same unqualified bullet.

⚠️Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Extract the duplicated template un-suppression rule into one helper.
The same condition appears here and in src/codex/catalog/retained-sync.ts, Lines 375-381. Both copies check shouldUpgradeToUpstreamEntry, the account-gated availability test, and desktopAllowlistSuppressedNativeSlugs({ ...config, omitDisabledNativeModels: false }). Both then call suppressedBareNativeSlugs.delete(String(template.slug)).
The two writers must produce identical catalogs. The tests assert byte equality between the writers. If one copy changes alone, the writers diverge. String(template.slug) is also repeated four times in each copy.
Move the rule into one function, for example in native-omission.ts. That module can import metadata.ts without creating a cycle. Both writers would then call it.
