The beta OS/Python 3.14 image is published as latest, but build and CLI checks leave end-to-end Azure provisioning, SSH/reboot, and libvirt compatibility unverified.

Summary
Update the Linux runtime container to
mcr.microsoft.com/azurelinux-beta/base/core:4.0.build-essentialwith explicitgcc-c++,make, andglibc-develpackages, retaininggcc.python3-virtualenv; Python's built-invenvmodule supplies virtual environment creation.gzipexplicitly because the core image does not include it and AzCopy extraction requires it.The requested base is a beta image. The existing latest-LISA-release checkout and
[ado,azure,libvirt,baremetal]installation behavior are unchanged.Validation
Performed a complete Docker build on Linux amd64 using the changed Dockerfile, then checked the resulting container:
mslisa 20261019.1python3 -m pip checklisa --helpaz versionazcopy --versionpython3 -m venvand venv pipgit diff --checkLISA CLI emitted notices for the intentionally uninstalled AWS/AI extras. No Azure VM deployments or end-to-end LISA test suites were executed; these checks validate image buildability and CLI startup, not full Python 3.14 or cloud-platform certification.
