Zero Trust Assessment Identity Module Timeout in Large Tenant (150K+ Users) #1595

We are encountering an issue when running the Microsoft Zero Trust Assessment.

All sections of the assessment complete successfully except for the Identity section. The Identity assessment consistently times out and does not complete.

Environment

Microsoft 365 tenant with 150,000+ user accounts
Microsoft Zero Trust Assessment

Issue Details

The assessment starts successfully, however the Identity section appears to require processing a very large number of user objects. During execution, the process eventually times out before results are returned.

All other assessment sections run and generate results as expected.

Expected Behaviour

The Identity assessment should complete successfully in large-scale environments, or provide guidance on supported limits and recommended approaches for large tenants.

Actual Behaviour

The Identity assessment times out during execution and no Identity results are produced.

Impact

This prevents completion of the overall Zero Trust Assessment and results in an incomplete assessment report.

Request

Could the team please advise:

• Whether this is a known issue or limitation.
• Whether there are any supported workarounds for large tenants.
• Whether additional logging can be enabled to identify the stage at which the timeout occurs.
• Whether there is a Microsoft engineering contact or support team that can assist with troubleshooting this issue.
