Gmail Housekeeping

A simple web app to delete emails from specific senders in your Gmail inbox.

Quick Start

1. Install dependencies

npm install

2. Set up Google OAuth credentials

1. Go to Google Cloud Console
2. Create a project and enable the Gmail API
3. Configure OAuth consent screen:
   • Choose "External"
   • Add your Gmail address as a test user
4. Create OAuth credentials:
   • Go to "Credentials" > "Create Credentials" > "OAuth client ID"
   • Choose "Web application"
   • Set redirect URI to http://localhost:3000/api/auth/google/callback
5. Download the JSON and save it as credentials.json in the project root

3. Run the app

npm run dev

This starts both the backend (port 3000) and frontend (port 5173).

4. Use the app

1. Open http://localhost:5173
2. Login with Google
3. Enter sender email addresses (one per line or comma-separated)
4. Click "Delete All Emails from These Senders"

Warning

Deleted emails cannot be recovered. Use with caution.
