adopt-project.py and shape_materialize.py: a tag whose target the clone lacks is called a tag that names no commit, a recorded tag id is asked only of a clone still in place, and a pinned product only PyYAML misreads is written bare #912

Description

@brettheap

Goal: each pin question is answered from the commit actually pinned, with words that say why, and a pinned product is written so that any YAML reader reads it back as text.

Filed by lane openRepoShape-3, from its triage of #457 at the v1.1.1 release commit 5017830. It groups #457's lines L1-81, L1-82 (its second case) and L2-14, one pull request's worth.

State at 5017830. Read, not run.

    CLAIMED — lane openRepoShape-5, session 50cede29-ab82-4ca3-9f67-d98e1a58c8d2@Eagle, 2026-10-20T17:18:12Z, for #912

    Logged in lanes/log/openRepoShape-5.md at e2d0b1191e7e3d7ae6336f934e963f00c8bf863d.

    The three reads (lane-collision-protocol Rule 1):

    1. existing `CLAIMED —` comments on opensoft/openRepoShape#912:
       none
    2. `gh pr list --repo opensoft/openRepoShape --state all --search "#912"`, kept where the row or its body names `#912`:
    995	scaffold-project.py, adopt-project.py and shape_materialize.py: one function both tools call spells a `neutral_product_pins:` entry, so a `--pin` of `0x1F`, `1_000`, `1e3`, `3dGlass` or `-x` is double-quoted from the scaffold as from adopt (#924)	l3-924-neutral-pin-spelling	MERGED
    3. `git ls-remote --heads git@github.com:opensoft/openRepoShape` branches naming `912` as a whole token:
       none
