setup-project.py: step (7)'s finish-by-hand clone lacks the -c core.autocrlf=false that setup's own Windows clone passes #926
Goal: on Windows, step (7)'s finish-by-hand clone checks out the pinned copies as setup's own clone does, with no shape-copy-drift.
Filed by lane openRepoShape-3, from its triage of #459 at the v1.1.1 release commit 5017830. It is the open half of #459's line U041 (L2-29), one pull request's worth. Its quoting half was fixed by 3d81259 (#821, #711).
The backstop's hand clone lacks -c core.autocrlf=false (U041)
State. Setup's own clone passes -c core.autocrlf=false on Windows (setup-project.py:2841-2851). Step (7)'s backstop prints git [-c protocol.file.allow=always] clone --recurse-submodules with the assembly's URL and no -c core.autocrlf=false (setup-project.py:2758-2763).
What happens. Under Git for Windows' default core.autocrlf=true, a person who finishes by hand checks the pinned copies out with CRLF, and make bootstrap reports shape-copy-drift. Read from the code; not run on Windows.
Evidence. The lines above at 5017830.
Direction. Add -c core.autocrlf=false to the backstop's clone line where setup runs on Windows, as its own clone does, with a test row that reads the printed line under an emulated nt.
