This is the spec leg's follow-up of the cutover of opensoft/openRepoTools#186, which adopts opensoft/openRepoTools in place as the assembly of this spec leg, opensoft/openRepoTools-spec, and the code leg, opensoft/openRepoTools-code. This pull request lives in a different repository from the cutover's issue, so every issue is named here in full: a bare issue number would link to this repository's own numbers.

It carries one commit, on top of this repository's main as adopt-project.py execute pushed it at the cutover. The row number is that of the cutover runbook's list of follow-ups. The commit is made from the reviewed file named with it, and the sha256 given is that file's:

  • Row 4, spec-0001: the spec leg's own front door. It adds AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md and README.md (openRepoShape's spec-root templates, rendered with this project's names, with one short section each in AGENTS.md and README.md for this leg), the .gitattributes LF rule and the Apache-2.0 LICENSE, all of which the leg lost when the root kept them. It also re-points the three test paths of the claude-current manual, in docs/README-claude-current.md lines 275 and 276, at the code leg, under code/ from the assembly root. No approval record is rewritten: paths and commit hashes recorded in openspec/changes/ and specs/ stay as their authors wrote them. Six files, 301 lines added and 2 removed. File spec-0001.patch, sha256 c11070f05a9e4611da767d8ba6d5733703bb96bfc93abaf5c587f579148210b3.

Row 4's file is kept in specs/004-migrate-to-triad/patches/t006/ in opensoft/openRepoTools at the cutover's source commit 33ce26dffc5286e68f1d29ab5c6458edef0330c0, and is copied here under the short name above.

The spec leg has no workflow of its own, so this pull request has no checks. In the cutover of opensoft/openRepoTools#186, Brett Heap ruled that a pull request with no check runs and no statuses on its head counts as green.

Brett Heap approved this follow-up at Gate C of opensoft/openRepoTools#186, as one pull request per leg, each merged by merge commit once it is green. Merge this one by merge commit, not by squash or rebase, so that the reviewed commit keeps its id, author and committer.

Summary by Sourcery

Establish the specification leg’s standalone front door and align its manual’s test references with the code leg.

New Features:

  • Add standalone project guidance and identity files for the openRepoTools specification leg, including contributor instructions, README, Apache-2.0 licensing, and line-ending policy.

Bug Fixes:

  • Correct the claude-current manual to reference the test suites in the separate code leg.

Documentation:

  • Document the specification leg’s scope, repository layout, assembly-root workflow, and relationship to the implementation leg.

…DE.md and README.md, the LF rule and licence it lost when the root kept them, and the claude-current manual's three test paths re-pointed at the code leg.

Rehearsal patch for opensoft/openRepoTools#186, task T006 of
specs/004-migrate-to-triad/tasks.md, against run C's spec leg 593250d. The
split left this leg with no AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, README.md, LICENSE or
.gitattributes, because all of them stayed in the assembly root, and a
superproject's attributes never reach into a submodule's worktree.

- AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md and README.md are openRepoShape 7f84ca4's
templates/spec-root/ files, rendered by its own copy_tree with this
project's names, so the leg-clone detector in scripts/shape_advisory.py
recognises them. Each AGENTS.md and README.md then adds one short section:
what this leg holds; that full proposals and canonical Speckit files live
here, and a bounded amendment in the code leg's feature folder; where
`openspec validate` runs; and how to read a pre-split path or commit hash.
- .gitattributes restores the `* text=auto eol=lf` rule the monorepo's root
file applied to these documents. `git add --renormalize .` changes nothing.
- LICENSE is the root's Apache-2.0 text, byte for byte (blob 261eeb9).
- docs/README-claude-current.md:275-276: `tests/test_claude_current.py`,
  `tests/test_claude_restart_check.py` and
  `tests/test_lane_start_claude_current.py` become `code/tests/…`, relative
  to the assembly root.

No approval record is rewritten. Paths and commit hashes recorded in
openspec/changes/ and specs/ are left as their authors wrote them, under
FR-014 of specs/004-migrate-to-triad/spec.md. docs/README-lanes.md is left
to the lane-tooling analysis.
