The offer's yes leaves the destination lane's log saying a transcript was RESUMED that nobody is in, because lane-start has no binding mode and the guard makes the cell write itself #70
Found by Copilot round 3 on #52 (Amendment 12's name guard) and declined there: the fix is a new lane-start mode rather than a change to the guard, and the state it leaves is a record that reads oddly rather than one that loses work.
What happens. Clause (h) rule 2's yes runs lane-start --no-launch <repo2> <m> for the lane a person renamed their session to, and then — because lane-start's step 3b veto 1 may not take a uuid another row records — the guard appends THIS transcript to the destination's session cell itself (guard_bind_uuid). Where the destination lane already has a recorded transcript, lane-start takes its ordinary RESUME path on the way through: it writes a RESUMED stamp naming the id THE ROW ALREADY HAD, and the cell then ends on the moved session. So the destination's log says one transcript was resumed while its row says another is the lane, and nothing was launched at all (--no-launch).
Why it is not a loop and not lost work. The cell is the address every later read follows (Amendment 6(b)), and it ends on the right uuid; the guard prints what it wrote; the next prompt finds the three names agreeing. What is wrong is the LOG, which is the append-only history: a reader of that lane's lines sees a resume of a conversation nobody was in.
What it wants. A binding mode for lane-start — the act clause (h) rule 2 actually asks for, "the row created or this uuid appended to its cell" — that stamps the id being BOUND rather than the id it would have resumed, or one that suppresses the resume stamp when --no-launch launches nothing and the caller is moving a window. That also covers the other half of the same gap: guard_bind_uuid exists because lane-start cannot make that write, and a mode that could would let the guard stop making a register write of its own.
Related: #39 (the duplicate read), #43 (the restart removal), and Amendment 12(h) rule 2 itself.
