Current Limitation

Code changes required for MongoDB 5.1 compatibility; see failing PR #7682.

This seems to be a separate requirement from MongoDB 5.0 compatibility which requires at a minimum the MongoDB NodeJS driver update, see #7670. Very likely, #7670 has to be fixed first before addressing #7690.
