Right now if you type any domain name with a TLD not included in the resources/tlds.txt list, it will be interpreted as a search query and sent to the search engine.
In my local network, I override DNS and use some non-standard domains, and I am sure other people may have some other reasons for accessing hostnames with non-standard TLDs.
It would be a nice QoL feature if we just treated all queries with a trailing / as hostnames.
So
example.example -> [search 'example.example']
example.example/ -> [go to 'http(s)://example.example/']
Both chromium and firefox already do this with their bars so I think it would also make sense to do this in the vimium one.
So, yeah. If this would get merged, I can PR it rq. :)
