odd unicode character for close button in anywidget front end #27

Description

@Vipitis

So this only happens with the anywidget front end.

jupyter (barely visible too with the color themes)

I found where it's defined:

this.butCloseElement.innerText = '×'

Would it be fine to use an x or X instead of ×?, perhaps there is some string encoding argument to make sure windows doesn't mess it up?
let me know if this should be filed rendercanvas, or maybe even upstream... I put it here as the definition originates from here.

    This looks like an encoding issue. Maybe I failed to mark the page as Unicode. How does the x look like here: https://pygfx.org/renderview/tester.html

    Also, what OS and browser is this?

    web is fine. But marimo in the browser is not. so it's not just the VSCode implementation.

    This was with windows 10 and Chrome. Also Python 3.12.9 I think the default encoding is Unicode in like 3.14 so it might be this one windows quirk. I didn't look for any encoding options myself
