Compile Install Fails.

Hi,

I just follow the instruction for debian. I am installing Rust on Ubuntu 12 running in a VMWare env. The error:

result: FAILED. 840 passed; 1 failed; 78 ignored

rust: task failed at 'Some tests failed', /home/watt/Downloads/rust/src/compiletest/compiletest.rs:119
rust: domain main @0x9463f28 root task failed
rust: task failed at 'killed', /home/watt/Downloads/rust/src/libcore/task.rs:663
make: *** [check-stage2-T-i686-unknown-linux-gnu-H-i686-unknown-linux-gnu-pretty-rpass-dummy] Error 101

Any help or guide is appreciated.

I would be curious to know which test failed. If you run RUST_THREADS=1 make check it will run a single test at a time and should be pretty clear on which test it is that fails.

Regardless, this shouldn't prevent you from using the compiler as it is just one test failure, and make install should still work.

That rapscallion pretty printer. It's not always kept up to date. I thought I saw a commit that touched it, so could you check out incoming HEAD and try it again? If you still get the error, can you upload to gist.github.com the output of $builddir/stage2/rustc --pretty normal /home/watt/Downloads/rust/src/test/run-pass/syntax-extension-fmt.rs, where $builddir is something like x86_64-apple-darwin in /home/watt/Downloads/rust.
