Request: Update Node.js version to current LTS #480

Open

Description

@LukastBorges

Hi team,

I’d like to request updating the Node.js version used in our GitHub Actions workflows to the current LTS release.

Reason for request:

Our package.json specifies "engines": { "node": ">=22.11.0" }, which matches the current LTS release line.

Some CI jobs (e.g., semantic-release) are failing due to EBADENGINE errors when the runner uses Node 20.x, which is now in maintenance mode.

Upgrading to the latest LTS ensures long-term support, security updates, and compatibility with modern dependencies.

Thanks for considering this upgrade!

    i dont understand what you are asking us to do.

    our defined engines range defines the node version range supported by the plugin. likewise, the supported range is also defined for core.

    Some CI jobs (e.g., semantic-release) are failing due to EBADENGINE errors when the runner uses Node 20.x, which is now in maintenance mode.

    neither of the engines definitions i linked to above or the ones defined for any of our other plugins define what your pipeline actually uses to run semantic-release. that is defined by your plugin.
