ThinkMachine-4E-Advisor is an Android application built on top of the ThinkMachine 4E Java library. Its goal is to provide a complete assistant for creating and managing character sheets for Fading Suns 4th Edition, for both players and game masters.
The application is organized into four main areas:
- Character creation
- Random generation
- Sheet visualization
- Rules and content wiki
In addition, it includes advanced character management, global settings, and legal/informational sections.
The character editor is organized into specialized tabs that cover the full creation flow:
- Basic identity and profile data.
- Descriptive information and background.
- Upbringing, faction, and calling selection.
- Level and progression setup.
- Occultism and cybernetics configuration.
- Equipment and inventory management.
- Additional character adjustments.
This approach allows users to move from an initial concept to a fully configured character sheet in a guided and coherent way.
The random generation section provides tools to speed up character creation through:
- Random profile generation.
- NPC-oriented options.
- Configurable randomization preferences.
It is especially useful for quick session preparation and dynamic content creation.
The application offers different formats to review the final result:
- Text view for direct review.
- Full PDF view for detailed output.
- Compact PDF view for concise consultation scenarios.
These modes make it easier to consult information during sessions and prepare material for sharing or printing.
The wiki includes an internal catalog of game elements, including:
- Species, upbringings, factions, and callings.
- Capabilities, skills, and perks.
- Weapons, shields, armor, and cybernetics.
- Occult powers and planetary references.
This allows users to consult rules and content without leaving the character creation flow.
The application covers the full character lifecycle:
- Create a new character.
- Save the current character.
- Load an existing character.
- Delete the selected character.
- Export a character to JSON.
- Import a character from JSON.
- Dynamically select characters from the menu.
JSON import/export simplifies backups, transfer, and continuity across devices.
The settings panel includes controls to adapt application behavior:
- Enable/disable non-official content.
- Enable/disable restriction checks.
- Enable or disable specific rules modules.
This allows each table to adapt the experience to its campaign framework and allowed sources.
The informational section is presented in separate tabs for:
- General application information.
- License details.
- Privacy policy.
It also displays the installed app version for traceability and support.
The source code is hosted in this repository. The production application is available on Google Play:
