FYI, IEEE is now messing around with [a whole bunch of different float8 proposals](https://github.com/P3109/Public/blob/main/Shared%20Reports/P3109%20WG%20Interim%20report.pdf). No need to do anything about it in float16array, I'm just posting the link in case others here want to keep tabs on the float8 progress.
