…ents The §1 adapter-seam paragraph still listed only the 7 original W1 seam files and claimed all 17 seam traits are present, even though the 2026-07-09 amendments (plan §8, gap-audit roster) add the sync_sink.rs adapter for two *new* crate traits (SyncEventSink/SkillDocSink) that do not exist at the Phase-0 SHA, and rebridge embeddings.rs to tinyagents::harness::embeddings under W-EMB. Split the W1 seams from the later additions so the roster no longer over-claims. Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_016MEmwkKhYx4QjwvMsVw4ij
…plemented) Reconcile the ledgers with the executed state of the migration: - #59 (rusqlite 0.40 + git2 0.21 native-dep alignment, spec §0.4) is MERGED upstream; the submodule gitlink is at 33dda94 and the dep is active (Cargo.toml:82), seam wired (mod.rs:130), host `cargo check --lib` exit 0. Spec §0.4 activation rows flipped from deferred to landed. - Drift D3 (vectors count i64/try_from guard) CLOSED — folded into #59's usize->i64 sweep, verified present in the crate. - Drift D1 (conversations rank-before-clone) and D2 (queue is_host_io_error predicate) IMPLEMENTED + tested on submodule branches drift/d1-rank-before-clone-cross-thread and drift/d2-classify-host-io-error, pending upstream PR merge + a chore(vendor) gitlink bump before their rows close and W7/W4 may cut over. No host gitlink bump here — the plan rule bars bumping to unmerged SHAs; the D1/D2 branches ship as tinycortex PRs first. Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_016MEmwkKhYx4QjwvMsVw4ij
Add the differential `content_path_parity` asserters mandated by the parity checklist (Phase 0.3, Layer 1). Both host and crate still own a `chunk_rel_path`/`summary_rel_path` (content is not flipped until W3), so a crate-side change to `slugify_source_id` / `sanitize_filename` / the email special case / `summary_filename` would silently strand every existing vault file under a new path on the next open. `chunk_rel_path_host_crate_byte_parity` and `summary_rel_path_host_crate_byte_parity` run an adversarial id corpus (colons, all Windows-illegal chars, unicode, >255-char ids, gmail participant slugs, malformed email source_ids; every summary-id shape × 3 SummaryTreeKind × levels) through both impls and assert byte-equal output. Verified green: the two sides are byte-identical today, and this pins them so any future drift fails here instead of on a user's disk — a W3 (store+chunks/content) flip gate.
) Move the vendored submodule gitlink 33dda94 → a8e10f7, picking up the two merged drift-ledger ports (bump only to a merged SHA): - tinycortex#63 (D2): `is_host_io_error` persistent host-FS classifier in `queue/worker.rs` — gates host W4 (queue cutover). - tinycortex#64 (D1): rank-before-materialize cross-thread hit search in `conversations/inverted_index.rs` — gates host W7 (conversations). Version pin (`tinycortex = "0.1"`) unchanged — crate is still 0.1.1; this is a source-only advance. Drift ledger rows D1/D2 flip to CLOSED, so W4 and W7 are now unblocked per the gate rule.
D2 merged as tinycortex#63 (e352435), D1 as tinycortex#64 (a8e10f7); host gitlink bumped 33dda94 → a8e10f7. Flip drift-ledger rows D1/D2 to CLOSED (all three drift rows now closed), update the per-module gate table (memory_queue/memory_conversations → CLEAR), and advance the spec's version anchor + status. With no engine drift open, W4 and W7 may cut over per the gate rule.
…rter Add `embedding_signature_host_crate_byte_parity`: host `embeddings::format_embedding_signature` and crate `store::vectors::format_embedding_signature` each own their OWN copy of the formatter, so either drifting would silently split one embedding space into two — every existing vector reads as stale under the new signature and the next open triggers a full re-embed storm (tinyhumansai#1574). Pins both == the golden `provider={name};model={model};dims={dims}` over a provider corpus (voyage/openai/ollama/cohere/inert + empty-model and punctuation edge shapes). Verified byte-identical today. Mark the P6/P10 Layer-1 asserters landed in the parity checklist; P7 (frontmatter) is the one Layer-1 asserter still pending.
First cut of the Phase-0.3 Layer-2 differential gate as
`tests/memory_golden_parity_e2e.rs`. Stands up a real workspace through
the host production surface (`memory::ops::{doc_put, recall_*}`), forces
the crate chunk-DB substrate init deterministically, then scans EVERY
`*.db` under the workspace path-agnostically and unions their tables.
Asserts the two tiers that share the workspace compose without collision
(parity checklist P3/P5/P11/P12 — the W3 gate):
- crate chunk-DB substrate: the 15 `chunks/schema.rs` tables (mem_tree_*
+ mcp_writes);
- host UnifiedMemory tier: the 10 `memory_store/unified/*` tables
(memory_docs, graph_*, episodic/event/segment, vector_chunks, …).
Plus comparator 5 (idempotent re-open): re-running the flow adds/drops no
tables (no lazy second-run schema churn). Both tests green.
TODO (land with W3/W5, noted in the checklist): vectors/store_meta/kv_*
(need a widened ingest flow), the seeded golden fixture + generator, and
comparators 2/3/4 (recall / tree-read / vault byte-compare).
…olicy First W4 brick: `src/openhuman/tinycortex/queue_driver.rs`, the seam where the host drives the crate queue (`queue::run_once` + `QueueDelegates`). TinyCortex owns the job store + single-step engine but drops the tokio pool, scheduler, Sentry, and storage-degraded machine — those stay host (plan §1 / deletion ledger). `classify_worker_error` ports the legacy `memory_queue::worker` error arms verbatim onto the crate's now-merged classifiers (tinycortex#63) — busy→1s silent, transient-IO→30s silent, disk-full→300s silent, corrupt→300s + quarantine/rebuild recovery, host-FS→300s + storage- degraded + report-once, else→1s + report-always. It's a pure function so the "back off, don't page" policy (tuned by several Sentry floods: TAURI-RUST-4R8/E93, CORE-RUST-19J, tinyhumansai#2206) is unit-tested without a live loop. A minimal host `QueueDelegates` proves the host satisfies the crate trait and drives `run_once` end-to-end (empty-queue smoke). 7 tests green. Additive — nothing flipped. Remaining W4: the real `HostQueueDelegates` engine bridge (with W5), the tokio worker loop applying this policy, re-pointing global.rs/enqueue onto `queue::store`, and deleting the legacy `memory_queue` engine.
Add `HostQueueDelegates`, the host impl of the crate's `QueueDelegates`
(the seam the crate queue pushes heavy per-job work through). It holds
the host `Config` and bridges each delegate method to the existing host
engine. The crate ships no production delegates (only test-only
`RecordingDelegates`), so this bridge is inherently host work.
Wired to the real engine (self-contained, ported from `memory_queue`):
- `active_signature` → `chunks::store::tree_active_signature`
- `has_uncovered_reembed_work` → `with_connection` +
`chunks::store::has_uncovered_reembed_work` (per `ops::ensure_reembed_backfill`)
- `list_stale_buffers` → `trees::store::list_stale_buffers`, mapping host
`Buffer{tree_id,level}` → crate `StaleBuffer` (ported from `handle_flush_stale`)
Staged for brick 2b (return an error, never a silent no-op, so a
premature flip fails loudly): `extract_chunk`, `append_node`,
`seal_level`, `seal_document`, `reembed_batch` — these restructure the
host handlers' atomic-tx bodies (score/admit, buffer push, seal_one_level,
seal_document_subtree, reembed batch) into the crate's decision-returning
shape and couple to `memory_tree` internals (host until W5).
Additive — the driver is not flipped to these yet. 9 queue_driver tests
green (6 error-policy + run_once smoke + 2 HostQueueDelegates).
…ates
Wire the sealing pair of `HostQueueDelegates` to the real host engine
(ported from `memory_queue::handlers::{handle_seal_document, handle_seal}`):
- `seal_document` → `get_or_create_source_tree` + `TreeFactory::label_strategy`
+ `bucket_seal::seal_document_subtree`; empty version set is a no-op.
- `seal_level` → `get_tree`/`get_buffer` + `should_seal` gate +
`bucket_seal::seal_one_level(.., enqueue_follow_ups=true)` +
best-effort `update_summary_tags`. Returns `None`: `seal_one_level` drives
the cascade by enqueuing follow-ups into the shared `mem_tree_jobs` table,
which the crate's `run_once` claims (parity P4). Transitional — switches to
the crate's return-parent cascade in W5.
Still staged (bail) for the next 2b batch: extract_chunk, append_node,
reembed_batch. Additive — not flipped. 10 queue_driver tests green
(new: seal methods handle empty/missing state).
…gates
Wire the ingest→buffer pair of `HostQueueDelegates` to the real host
engine (ported from `memory_queue::handlers::{prepare_extract +
finalize_extract, handle_append_buffer}`):
- `extract_chunk` → read full body, `score::score_chunk`, persist score +
lifecycle (ADMITTED/DROPPED) in one tx, best-effort obsidian-tag rewrite;
returns `ExtractDecision{kept, uses_document_subtree, tree_scope}`. Does
NOT enqueue the append follow-up — the crate's `handle_extract` does that
from the decision (avoids double-enqueue).
- `append_node` → resolve target tree (source/topic), push node into the L0
buffer + lifecycle→BUFFERED in one tx, report `should_seal`. The seal
enqueue is the crate's job now. Skips the legacy handler's body read
(unused at buffer-push time — bodies are re-read at seal).
Also copies the pure scope helpers (`derive_tree_scope`, `chunk_tree_scope`,
`uses_document_subtree`) into the seam (they belong here once memory_queue
is deleted at the flip). Additive — not flipped. Only `reembed_batch`
remains staged. 11 queue_driver tests green.
…legates) Wire the last `HostQueueDelegates` method to the real engine (ported from `handle_reembed_backfill` + `reembed_collect`): map the host handler's control flow onto `ReembedProgress` — stale job signature → StaleSignature, no uncovered chunk/summary rows → Covered, no usable write embedder → NoProvider, else embed one bounded batch (excluding tombstoned rows via the tinyhumansai#1574 §6 worklist SQL), persist to the sidecars, → Wrote{more_pending} (the crate's handle_reembed_backfill turns that into Defer, terminals into Done). Copies the reembed helpers (reembed_collect, cap_embed_text, tombstone writers) into the seam; preserves the AuthMissing fail-without-tombstone semantics. Crate chunk-DB schema carries every column the worklist SQL needs (deleted, model_signature, *_reembed_skipped). **HostQueueDelegates is now a complete engine bridge — all 8 methods wired to the host memory_tree/score/embed/store.** Additive: the live queue still runs on memory_queue until brick 3 (flip: wire the tokio worker loop, re-point global.rs/enqueue onto the crate store, delete the legacy engine — gated by the full memory e2e suite). 11 tests green.
…ngine Re-point `memory_queue::worker::run_once` at `tinycortex::memory::queue:: run_once` + `HostQueueDelegates`. The host worker POOL/scheduler/Notify/ shutdown/Sentry/degraded scaffolding is unchanged; only the per-job engine (claim → dispatch → settle) is now the crate's. Host producers still enqueue via `memory_queue::store` into the same `mem_tree_jobs` table the crate claims from (identical schema, parity P4), so no enqueue call sites change — the crate worker just claims what the host wrote. The shared scheduler-gate throttle is preserved so memory work still yields to voice/autocomplete/triage under load; the crate's own LLM gate serialises llm-bound jobs. The legacy per-job local/cloud permit routing and extract-batch coalescing are dropped (perf, not correctness — W4 follow-up). `settle_job` + a few imports are now dead (cleaned in 3b). Verified: memory e2e green with the crate engine driving — memory_tree_sync_deep (3), roundtrip (4), artifacts (3), tree_summarizer (3, incl. the hour→day→month→year seal cascade), sync_providers (17, ingest→drain→source-tree summary), fast_retrieve.
…orts Post-flip, `run_once` delegates claim/dispatch/settle to the crate, so the host `settle_job` and its imports (`handlers`, `scrub_for_log`, the `claim_next`/`claim_ready_extract_batch`/`mark_*` store helpers, `DEFAULT_LOCK_DURATION_MS`, `PipelineFailure`, the queue type re-exports) are dead. Remove them. The worker keeps only startup lock recovery (`recover_stale_locks`/`release_running_locks`) + the loop's storage-degraded signalling (`clear/mark_storage_degraded`, `FailureCode`). Verified: all 30 memory_queue::worker tests green, including `run_once_claims_and_completes_a_flush_stale_job` and `run_once_reschedules_reembed_backfill_jobs_that_defer` — the host loop's own tests now exercise the crate engine end-to-end (enqueue via host store → crate `run_once` claims + dispatches via HostQueueDelegates). Remaining W4 long-tail (documented follow-up): fully delete the `memory_queue::handlers` engine — blocked on re-homing `chunk_tree_scope` (used by `memory_tree::retrieval::cover`) and migrating the engine-internal `handle_job` tests upstream.
Make the seam's pure scope helper the single canonical host copy: promote queue_driver::chunk_tree_scope to pub(crate), re-export it (pub(crate) use) from openhuman::tinycortex, and re-point memory_tree::retrieval::cover at it instead of the soon-to-be-deleted memory_queue::handlers copy. No logic change (byte-identical derivation); removes the last production import of the legacy handlers engine. Verified: cargo check --manifest-path Cargo.toml --lib -> exit 0. Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01X39btnEnHSTuPSYYvgyjrb
… queue The two chunk-lifecycle tests that asserted queued jobs over a deleted tree/chunk settle to Done were calling the OLD host engine directly (memory_queue::handlers::handle_job + manual claim/mark_done). Re-point both to drive the flipped W4 path end-to-end via memory_queue::drain_until_idle (-> worker::run_once -> tinycortex crate claim/dispatch/settle), then assert the observable outcome (JobStatus::Done) via get_job. Same behavior asserted, now exercising the production path instead of the deleted engine. Verified: cargo check --manifest-path Cargo.toml --lib -> exit 0. Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01X39btnEnHSTuPSYYvgyjrb
The per-JobKind dispatch engine is now owned by the crate: worker::run_once delegates claim -> dispatch -> settle to tinycortex::memory::queue::run_once via HostQueueDelegates. Delete the legacy host engine that nothing calls anymore: - rm memory_queue/handlers/ (mod.rs 1023 + mod_tests.rs 744 + README 20 = 1787 lines): handle_job dispatch + all per-job handlers + scope/reembed helpers, fully superseded by the crate's handle_job + the seam delegates. Drop 'pub(crate) mod handlers;'. - rm store::claim_ready_extract_batch (52 lines): the extract-batch coalescing helper only the deleted handlers called; provably unreferenced (grep of src/, no callers/tests). - Refresh worker.rs / README doc comments to the flipped path. Kept (host-retained, still referenced): store enqueue side, claim_next / mark_done / mark_deferred / mark_failed(_typed) / recover_stale_locks / release_running_locks (used by store.rs + scheduler.rs unit tests and the worker start/loop), types, scheduler, ops, redact, testing::drain_until_idle. Verified: cargo check --manifest-path Cargo.toml --lib -> exit 0 (only pre-existing unrelated warnings). Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01X39btnEnHSTuPSYYvgyjrb

Clear backfill latch when re-embed finishes
When a re-embed chain reaches this terminal Covered path, the old host handler cleared memory_queue::set_backfill_in_progress(false) before returning Done; ensure_reembed_backfill still sets that process-global latch to true when the job is enqueued, but after the W4 flip the crate can only settle the row and cannot clear OpenHuman's host static. In the normal case where the last batch drains (or similarly when the delegate returns StaleSignature/NoProvider), memory_backfill_status can keep reporting in_progress=true with zero pending jobs, leaving the UI/absence-reasoning in degraded mode after the queue is actually finished.

OpenHuman carried a large in-tree memory engine (
memory_queue, and the broadermemory_*subsystem) that duplicates the reviewed, testedtinycortexcrate. Keeping both diverging is the core risk the migration exists to remove. W4 is the queue slice: the async job pipeline (extract → admit → append → seal → re-embed) had to move to the crate without changing on-disk data or job semantics, since existing user workspaces must open and process identically.Solution
src/openhuman/tinycortex/queue_driver.rsimplements the crate's 8-methodQueueDelegatesover the existing hostmemory_tree/score/embed engine, so the crate owns the control flow (parse payload, enqueue follow-ups, Done/Defer) while the heavy work still runs host code until later workstreams move it. The host keeps the worker pool, scheduler, Notify wake, shutdown release, Sentry-once + storage-degraded signalling, and the sharedscheduler_gatethrottle.mem_tree_jobs(identical schema +JobKind), onlyrun_oncechanged — no churn across the ~40 enqueue call sites.chunk_tree_scope(used bymemory_tree::retrieval::cover) into the seam and re-pointing the engine-internalhandle_jobtests onto the flipped path, preserving their assertions.Submission Checklist
