Summary

  • Re-pins vendor/tinyflows to v0.8.17 (tinyflows#135: feature-gated tinyflows-import).
  • tinyflows-import is now an unconditional dependency of core with default-features = false, features = ["schedule"]; the flows feature adds engine, store and catalog. storage::import::tinyflows::run_with imports legacy cron jobs (workspace and per-agent) in every build; a build without flows previously logged and skipped them. Without flows it still warns when a legacy flows/ directory exists.
  • New test run_with_imports_legacy_cron_jobs_whatever_the_flows_gate (tinyflows_cron_tests.rs, compiled in every feature set).

Acceptance of #7662

  • A build without flows imports legacy cron jobs.
  • import_file_state keys: OpenHuman never used FileStateStore (its flows state was in flows.db, imported by the catalog importer), so there is no host key list to supply; nothing to wire. The importer remains available for other hosts.
  • Root/app [patch."https://github.com/tinyhumansai/tinystoragedrivers"] is kept. tinyflows still names the storage crates by git tag v0.7.0 while tinyagents vendors them by path (v0.8.0); cargo treats a git and a path source as different packages even at the same commit, so removing the patch would link two DocumentStore traits and two libsqlite3-sys. It goes once tinyflows takes the storage crates from the same source (blocked on tinystoragedrivers-core not being on crates.io).
  • Fold of tinyflows-drivers into the published tinyflows crate: deferred by decision (same crates.io blocker).
  • tinyjuice's nested tinyagents copy to tsd v0.7.0: not in the Cargo graph, so not needed.

Checks

  • cargo check (root, product-features tests for openhuman and openhuman-cli, app) and the no-flows lib build pass; storage::import tests pass with flows.
  • feature-forwarding, crate-chain, submodule-monotonic pass.
  • pnpm rust:layout fails only on observability.rs line count (3479 > 3477), untouched here and pre-existing on upstream/main.
  • cargo test --lib --no-default-features does not compile on upstream/main either (unrelated params / module_fixture cfg gaps), so the no-flows config is verified by cargo check --lib only.
  • Cargo.lock/app lock carry cargo's regenerated windows-sys selections alongside the tinyflows version bump.

Part of #7522
Part of #7662 (remaining items above are blocked upstream, not host work)

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Legacy scheduled jobs are now imported during workspace migration even when flow support is not enabled. Imported jobs are available afterward instead of being skipped.
    • When flow support is enabled, flow catalogs and checkpoints are also imported. When it is not enabled, a notice is provided if legacy flow data is present.

Update the vendored tinywallet submodule to a newer revision. The new
checkout is dirty, so the recorded commit may not match the working tree.

Update the vendored tinywallet submodule to a newer revision.

Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Update the vendored tinyflows submodule to the latest upstream commit.

Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
The tinyflows-import dependency is now always compiled with its schedule
reader enabled, and the flows feature only turns on the engine, store and
catalog importers. Builds without flows therefore still import legacy cron
jobs instead of warning that they were skipped, and only the flow catalog
is reported as unimported.

Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Upgrades the tinyflows dependency to 0.8.17, which pulls in older windows-sys versions across the lockfile. Also wires up a new test module covering cron import behaviour.

Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Update the lockfile for openhuman-app so tinyflows resolves to 0.8.17 and
transitive dependencies pin their respective windows-sys releases instead of
all collapsing onto 0.61.2.

📝 Walkthrough

The TinyFlows importer now imports workspace and agent cron stores in builds with or without the flows feature. The dependency configuration and tests were updated, and the vendored TinyFlows reference changed.

Changes: TinyFlows cron import

Layer / File(s) Summary
Configure import features
crates/openhuman-core/Cargo.toml
The import dependency always enables schedule. The flows feature enables engine, store, and catalog separately.
Import cron stores
crates/openhuman-core/src/storage/import/tinyflows.rs, crates/openhuman-core/src/storage/import/tinyflows_cron_tests.rs, vendor/tinyflows
run_with imports workspace and agent cron stores with or without flows. Without flows, it warns if the workspace has a flows directory. The test checks the import report and stored cron jobs. The vendored TinyFlows reference was updated.

Cron imports appear mergeable, but the new test does not protect per-agent imports when flows is disabled. Add that coverage as a follow-up.

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in crates/openhuman-core/Cargo.toml: The import dependency is no longer optional, and its default features are disabled with schedule enabled unconditionally. The comments now specify that cron-job imports remain available without flows; the flows-gated import components are enabled separately in the feature list.
  • observed — Modified behavior in crates/openhuman-core/Cargo.toml: flows now forwards tinyflows-import/engine, /store, and /catalog individually instead of enabling the optional dependency as a whole.
  • observed — Modified behavior in crates/openhuman-core/src/storage/import/tinyflows.rs: Removed the flows feature gate from counts, making the report-counting helper available in builds without flows.
  • observed — Modified behavior in crates/openhuman-core/src/storage/import/tinyflows.rs: Removed the flows feature gate from import_cron, so cron importing is available in builds without flows.

Exercise the per-agent cron path in the no-flows test.

The copied fixture contains only workspace/cron/jobs.db. The test therefore checks only the workspace scope. The existing agent-scope test is behind feature = "flows", so it does not run in the configuration this regression test targets. Add an agent database and assert that its scope contains jobs.

/// `backend`: the flow catalog and checkpoints (only in a build with `flows`),
/// the workspace's cron jobs and each agent's. One [`Report`] per store; a
/// failure in one does not stop the rest. The cron importer needs only the
/// `schedule` reader, so a build without `flows` still keeps its cron jobs.

P2 Badge Update docs for gate-independent cron imports

This changes the no-flows contract so cron data is imported, but crates/openhuman-core/src/storage/README.md lines 48-52 and gitbooks/developing/architecture/storage.md line 124 still tell embedders that such builds import no cron jobs. Those canonical storage docs now describe the exact opposite startup behavior, so update them alongside this contract change.

tests

  • Conclusion: Success
  • Scope reviewed: all assigned evidence
  • Lane summary: The diff moves `tinyflows-import` off the `flows` feature gate so the cron importer is compiled always (a new always-declared dependency with `default-features = false, features = ["schedule"]`, plus `tinyflows-import/engine|store|catalog` added to `flows`), and it adds a sibling test module, `tinyflows_cron_tests.rs`, in the required `<module>_tests.rs` layout. That test is not vacuous: it looks up the `cron` report by domain, insists the outcome is `Outcome::Imported` (panicking on `AlreadyDone`/`NoSource`), requires a non-zero write count, and then re-reads the jobs through `CronDocuments` to assert the store is non-empty — which is what fails if `run_with` goes back to skipping cron when `flows` is off. The `flows`-on path is still covered by the existing `tinyflows_tests.rs`, which the same `run_with` body serves. I found no defect to report. _The code index is behind this pull request (indexed at `090f2b0101aa`), so retrieved context may be out of date._
