Merges origin/main (6118ec6: 1.1.0 #510, #516 Rust install-race fix, #513 register entries, #517 declined-functions page) into v2 with git merge --no-ff. No rebase.

Conflicts (8, all one-line version conflicts, resolved to v2's dev version; main's other changes in those files kept):

  • ts/package.json 2.0.0-dev.0, rust/Cargo.toml 2.0.0-dev.0, python/pyproject.toml 2.0.0.dev0
  • rust/Cargo.lock, examples/rust/Cargo.lock, python/uv.lock, examples/python/uv.lock: chtypes entry kept at v2's version
  • go/internal/ocifetch/useragent.go: bindingVersion kept at 2.0.0-dev.0

Release tooling: main changed none of scripts/release-, .github/workflows/release-.yml, RELEASING.md since 5627d17, so nothing to port. CHANGELOG [1.1.0] sections, docs and Rust (layout.rs) taken from main; [Unreleased] empty.

Local gates all green: gen.py --check / --major 2 --check / --selftest, release-channel/verify/pep440 selftests, uv lock --check (python, examples/python), cargo metadata --locked --offline (rust, examples/rust), go build + vet, lint-public/spelling/cited-paths/actions, markdownlint, dprint, policy-merge-check (--check-ci-names, --check-guide, --selftest).

Do not merge without clearance.

…ly (#482)

Rust named every temporary directory, temporary file and aside directory
under the cache from a clock reading and the thread id. The main thread is
ThreadId(1) in every process, so two processes that read the clock in the
same step chose the same name. They then shared one temporary directory
(create_dir_all reuses an existing one, fs::write truncates an existing
file), the first to rename it into place took the other's half-written
files with it, and the other failed on a path that had vanished:
CHTYPES_SOURCE_UNREACHABLE "io error: No such file or directory".

Every such name is now the process id and 64 random bits, and is created
exclusively (create_dir, create_new): a name another process holds is never
reused, another is drawn. The entry being replaced is moved into a fresh
.stale-* directory, as in Go, Python and TypeScript.
