- Line 845: Update the saved-configuration statement near the Gemini and Claude
provider guidance to limit ignored legacy overrides to eligible native models in
the canonical keyed opencode-zen provider on the official Zen routes. Specify
that only eligible Responses-only image_generation hosted-tool preferences are
ignored, while custom providers, non-key routes, and other preferences remain
unchanged.
Review comments at @src/server/messages-native.ts:
- Line 1019: Update enrichOpenCodeZenRateLimitMessage to recognize an explicit
error.type of "rate_limit_error" even when the message lacks “rate limit,” while
excluding quota errors; add a test for a 429 response with that error type, “Too
Many Requests,” and no Retry-After that verifies the intended 15-second hint.

Review comments at @src/providers/opencode-zen-rate-limit.ts:
- Line 89: Narrow the quota/billing check before the rate_limit_error handling
in the rate-limit enrichment flow so generic mentions of “credit” or “balance”
do not bypass enrichment for short-window 429 errors. Match quota and billing
terms as whole words and use specific phrases for credit or balance exhaustion;
add a test in the relevant rate-limit tests confirming “load balancer rate
limit” still receives guidance.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winDo not add the generic retry hint to quota or billing failures.
When a Zen 429 has upstream type
insufficient_quotaorbilling_error, messageToo Many Requests, and no upstreamRetry-After, the native Messages path passes only the message toresolveClientRetryAfter. That helper cannot see the upstream error type, classifiesToo Many Requestsas an ordinary rate limit, and returnsRetry-After: 2. This violates the quota/billing exclusion.Pass the upstream error type to the retry-after decision, or suppress the default at this boundary when
upstreamTypeisinsufficient_quotaorbilling_error. Preserve valid upstream headers.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Summary
Claude requests through the keyed OpenCode Zen gateway currently use Chat and fail with
ModelProtocolUnsupported. Follow-up to #7155: canonicalopencode-zenClaude models on official Zen routes now use Anthropic Messages regardless of Google mode or saved Chat/Responses overrides. Other Zen model families, custom destinations and non-key authentication retain their existing routing.Native Messages and translated Responses/Chat reuse shared Zen error guidance, including explicit
rate_limit_errorresponses whose message isToo Many Requests. Parsed type/code and message cues exclude quota/billing and spent-usage-limit failures, and valid upstream retry headers retain precedence. Saved-configuration documentation now scopes eligible overrides andimage_generationpreferences precisely; all seven localized provider guides describe the same routing contract.Co-authored-by: norths7ar guicaitiandu@gmail.com
