Summary

Three Qoder fixes share one exporter, integration-state path and adapter:

  1. Provider-only catalog (Refs [Bug]: Qoder duplicate model catalogs disable imported provider #7390; carries fix(qoder): avoid duplicate model catalogs #7391). Export each model once in providers.opencodex, with displayName and contextWindow. Refresh removes unchanged, previously owned modelConfigs.customModels rows. Edited owned rows remain conflicts. An unowned legacy opencodex row for an exported model refuses apply, refresh, overwrite and disable; unrelated rows are preserved. Model IDs containing commas or brackets work without array selectors.
  2. Isolated selector refusals (Refs [Bug]: Integrations page 500s when the catalog contains kimi/k3[1m] — Qoder managed-selector throw escapes the collection read #7512; carries fix(integrations): isolate unrepresentable Qoder status #7519). A contribution that raises UnrepresentableSelectorError produces unsafe / unresolvable-path status for that client while collection/single reads remain available. The shared mutation observer catches only that type: previews return an unsafe plan with canApply: false; apply/overwrite/disable return HTTP 409 integration_unsafe, without changing client configuration. Unexpected builder errors still propagate as internal errors.
  3. Replay-envelope refusal (Refs [Bug]: [qoder] Routed turn echoes OpenCodex's own "[Tool call: ...]" replay envelope (85 KB) — qoder adapter never mounts ToolEnvelopeEchoFilter #7517; carries fix(qoder): refuse echoed tool replay envelopes #7521). Vendor-cleaned assistant text passes through the existing line/fence recognizer. Echoed tool envelopes refuse with non-retryable vendor_scaffold_detected (502). Held text settles before thinking or tools; each later text block starts with fresh line/fence state. Recognition during terminal flushing preserves an upstream error while withholding the envelope and later held reasoning. Ordinary prose and closed fenced examples keep the shared recognizer's semantics.

Decisions and review findings

  • Preserve user configuration. Overwrite cannot resolve an unowned legacy-catalog collision because it does not own that row. Deleting it would discard user configuration. Disable shares the same classifier and refuses that collision too; its message identifies the row to remove. The existing unowned-key reason keeps GUI locale/union maps unchanged.
  • Preserve pending vendor signatures. Flushing the vendor filter at a thinking boundary would expose split signatures; settling replay against an incomplete cleaned suffix could falsely refuse prose such as [Tool Result]<s. The adapter records event offsets until that suffix resolves. Deferred storage is limited to 64 Ki characters and 1024 events, with explicit refusal on overflow.
  • Preserve Unicode at output boundaries. Whole code points stay intact within one input. A single trailing-high-surrogate carry also joins pairs across accepted JSONL frames. A completed scalar precedes events received between its halves, and deferred cuts move past the complete pair. Heartbeats/empty text leave the carry untouched. Unpaired surrogates become U+FFFD, including a carry remaining at termination; vendor-error precedence remains intact. This also closes a preexisting accepted-input interoperability gap; ordinary UTF-8 byte fragmentation was already handled by the decoder.
  • CodeRabbit findings addressed. Thinking-boundary ordering, terminal held reasoning, the within-input surrogate split, and both outside-diff findings in review 5636425534 are fixed. The observer fix is in src/integrations/mutation-plan.ts (the review's state.ts location named the status reader, which already caught the type). Regression assertions now require the exact typed preview/write result rather than accepting any status above 400. All four existing inline threads are resolved. The advisory docstring metric identifies no file/line correctness defect; no source change is made for that style warning.
  • Scope and integration. The only additional source file beyond the lane's initial list is the five-line read-only pendingTextLength getter in src/adapters/qoder/scaffold-guard.ts. Shared protocol/types and the replay recognizer are unchanged. Merged current dev and owner update e1d33f7592, retaining its doc-budget changes and inherited cleanup-document wording. Qoder prose lives in structure/clients/qoder.md; no line was added to scripts/test-layout/layout.json.

Source PRs #7391, #7519 and #7521 remain open for the manager. No GUI changes.

Head: 2e83e2d52132e6a101f97bb661cd151d77eb7163; target dev. Includes current origin/dev (ceef4889e4666dc0492a375d272eafa5b785361e) and owner update e1d33f7592. Tests use the repository-pinned Bun 1.4.3, HOME-isolation preload and shared host lock, with one heavy test process at a time.

  • Regression first: thinking-boundary suite 60 pass / 5 fail → 70 / 0; terminal-held-reasoning probe 0 / 3 → 3 / 0; within-input Unicode 0 / 2 → 74 / 0; exact typed-observer suite 4 / 6 → 10 / 0; split-input adapter/guard suite 193 / 15 → 208 / 0. Tests include JSONL ingress, every emitted delta's Unicode well-formedness, multiple event cuts, all terminals, original-error identity, heartbeat/empty-input behavior, queue limits, and unchanged client bytes/store on refusals.
  • Focused bun scripts/test.ts on Qoder adapter/scaffold/live-model/MCP/client/selector-state, Qoder spawn readmission, shared whole-line envelope, integration state/merge/writer/writer-guard/management routes, both test-layout guards and file-size ratchet: 561 pass / 0 fail, 16 files, exit 0.
  • bun run typecheck, bun run privacy:scan, bun run structure:check: each exit 0. Structure counts: providers/adapters 600, integrations 599, OpenAI accounts 600; layout.json 1999 lines.
  • cd docs-site && bun run build: exit 0 on this head, 593 pages, 84,861 internal links checked. Frozen dependency installation passed earlier; no dependency/lock changes.
  • Fresh independent gpt-6.1-sol / high review on this exact head: PASS, 0 blockers, all 22 changed files plus the latest interdiff. Its pure probes passed 510 cases / 0 failures; git diff --check origin/dev...HEAD passed.
  • bun run test:changed: 19,008 pass / 40 skip / 0 fail, 793 files, exit 0 on this head.
  • bun run test: 52,222 pass / 162 skip / 1 fail, 2,599 files across 22 serially scheduled runner lanes, exit 1. The sole failure is tests/claude-integration/claude-desktop-remote-hub.test.ts:249, “connected Desktop uses hub IDs across a cold restart (stored profile=false)”: the native model order and selected family default change between the captured hub snapshot and CLI apply. The unchanged dev baseline ceef4889e4666dc0492a375d272eafa5b785361e, run in a separate detached worktree with the same pinned test runtime/dependency lock, reproduces that exact assertion: 0 pass / 1 fail, exit 1. Static tracing found no diff in Desktop generation, discovery, hub-client or catalog code; Qoder-only branches and typed-error catches do not reorder that roster. This preexisting Desktop failure is reported to the triage manager for a separate unit; its assertion is unchanged. The full suite is not claimed passing.
  • Exact-head Ubuntu PR CI: pending, pull_request event, head 2e83e2d52. Required jobs must actually complete successfully before integration. Older-head green notifications do not certify this head; skipped jobs are not claimed as passing.

NOT RUN: live Qoder CLI validation (no operator PAT/paid vendor call); manual macOS/Windows CI for this non-Windows-sensitive change. No spawn/kill, PowerShell, path/ACL/service, workflow, auth, credential or dependency behavior changes in this lane; manual lane=all is not required.

Checklist

  • Scope stays focused and avoids unrelated cleanup.
  • Docs or release notes were updated when needed.
  • Security-sensitive changes were reviewed for secrets, auth, and unsafe defaults.

A hand-written modelConfigs.customModels row for provider=opencodex and an
exported model is outside the provider-only contribution, so keeping it while
adding providers.opencodex recreates the duplicate-catalog rejection. The
shared classifier now reports it as conflict/unowned-key before any write;
the writer and preview planner refuse overwrite for it as well. Rows an
ownership record still names stay with the legacy refresh.

Adapt the #7512 status tests: provider-only export makes selector-hostile
model IDs ordinary, while the typed UnrepresentableSelectorError guard keeps
its status/preview/mutation contract.

Walkthrough

Qoder now exports models through providers.opencodex, handles legacy catalog conflicts and selector-construction errors, and filters replayed tool envelopes from assistant text. The changes also add management API and adapter tests and update related documentation.

Changes: Qoder integration catalog

Layer / File(s) Summary
Provider-only export and legacy migration
src/clients/config-export/qoder.ts, structure/clients/qoder.md, docs-site/src/content/docs/guides/integrations.md, tests/clients/qoder-client.test.ts
Qoder exports models with context windows through providers.opencodex and no longer generates a legacy custom-model catalog. Refresh removes unchanged owned legacy rows. Tests cover export, refresh, model ordering, and model IDs containing selector characters.
Legacy-row conflict handling

A tool event ends the text block before it, but the replay-envelope filter
kept holding a possible marker prefix while the tool event was forwarded,
so legitimate text arrived after the tool call and a completed envelope
published the tool call before the turn was refused. Settle held text
before any non-heartbeat event, refuse before forwarding it when the text
completes an envelope, and scan the next block from a line start.

Document that an upstream error terminal is forwarded instead of the 502
when a marker is recognized only while flushing before it.

Map UnrepresentableSelectorError in observeIntegration.

observeIntegration calls buildIntegrationContribution directly. When Qoder raises UnrepresentableSelectorError, preview and mutation skip their typed refusal paths and return HTTP 500 with integration_internal_error.

The documented contract requires this error to remain a typed refusal. Catch only UnrepresentableSelectorError in the shared observer and return its unsafe failure shape. Rethrow all other errors.

Preserve surrogate pairs across text_delta boundaries.

guardQoderScaffolding is used by the live Qoder turn at src/adapters/qoder/adapter.ts:300-306. If a pending marker prefix queues a boundary, a high surrogate at the end of one text_delta is processed as a one-unit code point at src/adapters/qoder/adapter.ts:193-205. drainBoundaries() can then emit it before the next delta supplies the low surrogate. The next delta emits the low surrogate separately.

Carry a trailing high surrogate across text deltas, combine it with the next code unit before applying the code-point loop, and flush the carry at termination. The existing width-two logic already handles pairs contained within one delta.
