Preserve SDK receipt recovery, extension contracts and CLI/MCP context - #1208
Conversation
…ntracts Require the same immutable receipt proof for preview and application, recover identified legacy scalar encodings without fabricating selected evidence, and encode missing scalars at the writer boundary. Separate bounded schema validation from receipt persistence and expose private-safe diagnostic coordinates. Capture original rebase commit/blob coordinates and settle aborted operations through audited history only when HEAD, index, working item and clean history prove the exact original snapshot. Preserve durable receipt provenance. Publish inherited versus root-only extension flag reservations, return executable evidence-only recovery after warning closures, and route installation copy, backup, rollback and module-graph host faults through the shared typed boundary. Make review acknowledgements revision-aware and retry-safe on the actual GitHub surface. Refresh Greptile to 3.5.2, document SDK and operator contracts, and record linked tests, typed lineage and structured closure for seven completed PM items. Keep the exhaustive filesystem migration open with explicit remaining criteria. Generate CHANGELOG.md through pm-changelog 2026.9.2. Validation: exact 100/100/100/100 source coverage, focused structural correction, all linked PM tests, static and docstring assurance, typecheck, contract snapshots, context/token gates, package artifacts, npm/Bun installed recovery, npx/bunx 13-package smoke, package dogfood, secret scan and zero-vulnerability audit.

coderabbitai feedback #1208 (comment): The walkthrough correctly identifies the three inline improvements, which are implemented and separately acknowledged. The linked-issue recommendation to ignore durable receipt sidecars is declined because it would remove required cross-clone provenance. The collections diagnostic names a schema category; no historical writer field named collections is established. Supported omitted scalar slots are reproduced without claiming access to the private artifact. Added explicit docstrings to every previously undocumented touched top-level helper; the repository-owned docstring gate remains mandatory. |
sourcery-ai feedback #1208 (comment): The guide has useful coverage mapping, but three conclusions are incorrect. Clone-local raw receipts live in Git administrative storage; .agents/pm/merge-receipts contains intentionally tracked privacy-safe durable provenance and must not be ignored. schema_invalid:collections is a validation category, not evidence of a missing field named collections; the supported historical writer omission is reproduced at decisions[0]. Finally the current fingerprint uses summarizeMergeReceipt decision hashes, not raw serialized values. An added real-Git current-policy hash_only case passes inspection and settlement with value_policy retained; tampering still fails. These distinctions should guide future reviews. |
coderabbitai feedback #1208 (comment): Full review trigger acknowledged. Its three actionable findings have been implemented and will be included in the consolidated follow-up commit; a fresh full review will be requested after that push. |
codspeed-hq feedback #1208 (comment): Verified the performance report: all 11 benchmark cases are unchanged at this head. This is evidence for those benchmark scenarios, not a claim that every newly introduced recovery operation was benchmarked. |
codecov feedback #1208 (comment): Verified the coverage report against both hosted aggregation and a full local 8475-test run at exact 100/100/100/100. The quoted-path review fix adds a new negative control and coverage will be rerun for the updated head. |
sourcery-ai feedback #1208 (review): Acknowledged the seven-day free-review quota and explicit retry window. This is reviewer unavailability, not approval. The guide conclusions have been separately triaged with concrete contract and test evidence. |
coderabbitai feedback #1208 (review): All three inline findings are valid and implemented together: revision-bearing examples, quoted-path proof normalization with a red/green real-Git regression, and independent complete terminal-retry argument execution. Each thread receives its own response. Structured defect metadata also fixes the hosted static gate. |
Recorded the completed review and resolution confirmations: #1208 (comment), #1208 (review), #1208 (review), #1208 (review). The accepted fixes and regression evidence are consolidated for the next push. These messages add no new actionable finding. No further acknowledgement response is needed on this resolved thread. |
Normalize matching quotes before Git receipt-origin lookup, with real-Git coverage for both quote styles, spaces and rebase backends. Assert and execute complete terminal evidence-recovery arguments independently from warning output. Verify current-policy hash-only copies alongside legacy redactions and reject altered evidence in both formats. Include content revisions in acknowledgement examples and document every touched review helper. Record structured defect escape classes and executable gate evidence after closure, retaining the existing enforcement thresholds. Repair the existing CLI/MCP reproducibility fixture after it inherited live repository claim context. Root each subprocess cwd, PM_PATH and PM_GLOBAL_PATH in its temporary workspace, disable external probes, and compare complete records while a separate temporary workset changes. Preserve seed and invalid-config negative controls. Record all reviewed PM ownership, feedback dispositions, final verification and new GH-1207 intake. Keep the new report and unfinished filesystem umbrella open. Refresh the package-owned changelog and operator guidance. Validation: 8476 tests across 623 files pass at exact 100/100/100/100 coverage. Static quality, typecheck, docstrings, SDK contracts, post-closure defect evidence, docs/skills and linked regressions pass. All first-round bot artifacts and edited resolution confirmations received usefulness reactions and explicit replies.

The three new actionable findings are accepted and reproduced. The scope warning is declined: pm-8we38i and pm-vklr99 were already linked in the PR description and their connected review-verification and process-isolation work is explicitly within this combined delivery. The description now states that the six GitHub closing references are only a subset of the PM owners. Greptile 3.5.2 supports the same review workflow. Linked-issue and docstring checks now pass; repository-owned governed docstring coverage remains 100%. |
Read the updated CodSpeed result for 5a29fb4. Its unchanged benchmark comparison is retained as scoped performance evidence; the complete correctness and exact coverage gates are separate. |
Recorded this rate-limited attempt as unavailable, not approval. After the included quota reset, the subsequent full review completed and its three new findings were reproduced and fixed locally. |
Read the completed full-review confirmation. All three findings have failing regressions and local fixes; the consolidated follow-up will receive fresh checks and another explicit review request. |
Read this empty submitted review/resolution artifact. It adds no actionable finding or independent code approval; the associated resolved-thread evidence is retained. |
@greptileai Please review current head This batch addresses the three new findings: cleanup is inside the host-error boundary; interrupted abandonment settlement reuses its verified audit; and the fixture preserves conflicting ambient input. That last regression exposed a real attribution leak in both CLI and MCP, now fixed through scoped SDK identity signals. The final source passes 8,477 tests across 623 files at exact 100/100/100/100. Real permission failures, repeated settlement, unrelated audit and complete history-byte comparisons are included. Fresh npm/Bun installed recovery and npx/bunx smoke pass. The release-blocking Sentry groups and GH-1209 remain explicitly disclosed; no reliability gate has been bypassed or weakened. |
I will review the connected SDK, CLI, and MCP scope. I will verify the three reported fixes, receipt recovery, host-environment fault handling, and scoped identity behavior. I will also use the prior process-isolation context for the ambient ✏️ Learnings added

Read the revised walkthrough. Both actionable findings are accepted and being corrected in their inline threads. The scope warning remains inaccurate: this intentionally broad PR explicitly lists nine canonical PM owners; six GitHub closing references are a subset. The SDK, adapters, extension lifecycle and review assurance changes share the documented delivery scope. |
Read the updated benchmark report for 628826b. Eleven unchanged benchmarks are useful scoped performance evidence, not proof of correctness or coverage for the new recovery paths. |

Read the full-review completion confirmation and recorded attribution learning. The third review is complete; its two new actionable findings are being fixed before requesting another review of the next pushed commit. |

Recheck restored-origin receipt proof after the history rewrite has acquired its item lock and verified the item/history snapshots. A Git operation can change HEAD or create operation markers while those snapshots remain equal; reject that race before recording an abandonment audit or settling receipts. Exercise real Git HEAD and MERGE_HEAD changes from a lock lifecycle observer, including unchanged item/history bytes and pending receipts on refusal. Keep normal recovery, interrupted receipt persistence and idempotent retry intact. Make CLI/MCP isolation tests prove ambient attribution exists with a pinned supported session, including an ordinary CI environment without host harness variables. Document partial close recovery using only the generated missing field arguments and the selected tracker so existing evidence is preserved. Record PM review dispositions, linked verification and atomic closure evidence. The full suite passes 8477 tests across 623 files with exact 100/100/100/100 coverage. Type, lint, documentation, contract, graph, record and isolated timing gates pass, as do temporary npm/Bun recovery and npx/bunx package acceptance. Retain contended timing failures alongside the unchanged-limit isolated proof.

@coderabbitai full review Please review the latest pushed commit, including the under-lock restored-origin proof and real HEAD/MERGE_HEAD race regressions, partial close-evidence recovery documentation, and ordinary-CI ambient attribution positive control. The consolidated corrections pass all 8,477 tests and exact 100/100/100/100 coverage, linked suites, isolated unchanged timing gates, and fresh npm/Bun/npx/bunx acceptance. The latest pm-changelog 2026.9.6 generated and verified the changelog. Both third-round findings and all subsequent edited roots/replies have been read, reacted to, and acknowledged on their actual review surfaces. Please distinguish any provider quota limitation from a completed code review. |

I will assess the requested SDK, CLI, MCP, recovery, concurrency, documentation, and attribution-isolation changes. If a provider quota prevents the review, I will report the review as unavailable. I will not report it as completed. 🧠 Learnings used

Read the revised walkthrough. Its risk coverage explicitly stops at 628826b, so it is not a review of 9b5c654. Both findings are fixed and the inline roots now say addressed. The scope warning remains declined because all nine canonical PM owners are explicitly listed; six GitHub closing references are only a subset. A fresh full review is still required after the included quota resets. |
Read the benchmark report for exact head 9b5c654. Eleven unchanged benchmarks pass; this is scoped performance evidence alongside the local unchanged-limit import/transport gates. |
Read the explicit rate-limit result: no fresh full review occurred. CI has now completed successfully on 9b5c654; I will request the next included full review after the stated reset without enabling paid usage. |
Record the exact pm-csv Node 22 workflow and recovery-close overrun timing that coincide with Sentry PM-CLI-3A. Identify wrapper child lifetime and temporary tracker cleanup as a reproduction target while preserving the distinction between correlation and confirmed attribution. Retain both unresolved release-gate faults and the separately passing required telemetry evidence. History verification, defect evidence and package-owned changelog consistency pass; source and tests are unchanged from the fully verified SDK correction.
Reproduce ENOBUFS termination of a wrapper while its real child continues after the synchronous caller returns. Record the observed timing and later child completion without filesystem mocks, while keeping the pm-csv fixture and scrubbed Sentry event attribution explicitly unconfirmed.

@coderabbitai full review Please perform a fresh full review of the latest pushed head after the included-review reset. The source/test corrections remain those in 9b5c654, which passed every GitHub check, exact 100/100/100/100 coverage, all 8,477 tests, and both exact-commit hosted analyzers. The two subsequent PM evidence commits document the bounded pm-csv CI correlation and a real subprocess-lifetime reproduction for the unresolved release fault; they make no source changes and do not claim Sentry remediation. Both prior actionable findings are addressed and their latest edited revisions, replies, and status artifacts have been read, reacted to, and acknowledged. Please inspect the complete current head. Use the included review allowance; no paid usage or quota bypass is requested. |
I will inspect the complete delivery. This includes the receipt recovery, restored-origin concurrency proof, close-evidence recovery, host-environment fault handling, extension contracts, revision-aware acknowledgements, and CLI/MCP attribution isolation. I will also verify that the scoped identity behavior preserves isolation from ambient 🧠 Learnings used✅ Action performedFull review finished. |

Read the revised walkthrough for aab6b2c. The runtime conclusion is supported, while the sole operational-record finding uses the wrong process topology; exact reproduction evidence is in its thread. The scope warning is again declined: the PR explicitly links all nine canonical PM owners, and its six GitHub closing references are only a subset. We do not create duplicate issues or split the authorized connected delivery to satisfy that heuristic. |
Read the exact-head aab6b2c performance report: all eleven measured benchmarks are unchanged. This remains scoped evidence, alongside the complete test suite and unchanged-limit timing gates. |
Read the completion confirmation: the fourth full review finished on aab6b2c. Its single operational-record finding is addressed in the inline thread with the exact outer-buffered/inner-inherited reproduction. All GitHub checks also completed successfully. |
Read the complete review of aab6b2c and its sole finding. No supported product-runtime regression remains. The operational-record finding conflates the two spawnSync hops: only the outer call buffers output. Its inline thread now contains exact source links and the real reproduction, so the proposed correction is declined pending re-evaluation. |
Read this empty review artifact accompanying withdrawal of the process-topology finding. The substantive withdrawal and added learning are acknowledged in the inline thread; this empty artifact adds no independent approval. |
Read the revised walkthrough and all five passing pre-merge checks. The remaining operational-record correction sentence is stale: the corresponding inline finding was withdrawn after the real outer-buffered/inner-inherited subprocess reproduction, and its thread is resolved. The measured repository documentation gates remain 100 percent; the touched-function bot metric has a different scope. No product regression remains from this review. The separately documented Sentry release gate remains unresolved and is not being represented as fixed by this PR. |
Receipt recovery can reject evidence that preview accepted, lose undefined scalar slots across JSON persistence, or leave aborted-rebase receipts pending. Extension authors also cannot tell inherited host flags from root-only help flags, and warning closures omit the permitted evidence-backfill command.
This delivery covers receipt recovery, extension contracts, close evidence, MCP context isolation, and repeatable review verification. Its scope includes all PM owners linked below; the six GitHub closing references are a subset of that work.
This delivery implements the connected SDK contracts and CLI behavior:
PM implementation and evidence:
Validation: source coverage is exactly 100% statements (62,652), branches (47,526), functions (12,989), and lines (60,218). The final complete run passed all 8,477 tests across 623 files. Both CLI and MCP ambient-attribution regressions, ordinary-CI positive controls, real Git HEAD/operation races during lock acquisition, interrupted receipt persistence, unrelated audit and repeated settlement pass. All linked PM runs, TypeScript, ESLint, zero-duplicate/static/docstring assurance, SDK and runtime contracts, context/token gates, graph/record integrity, package artifacts, docs, version policy, and package-first dogfood passed. Temporary npm and Bun installs passed executable close-evidence recovery and immutable-history checks; packed npx/bunx smoke passed across 13 packages. Secret scanning and dependency audit are clean. Contended local timing runs reported create at 424 ms against 398 ms and SDK import times above their limits while full coverage/package jobs ran. Their measurements are retained in PM evidence. The final isolated rerun passed all ten SDK entrypoints and six CLI operations with unchanged ceilings, followed by passing graph/record checks. All GitHub checks and both hosted analyzers passed for final head aab6b2c. CodeRabbit completed the fourth full review; all valid findings are fixed, its final process-topology finding was withdrawn after reproducing the correct buffered outer call, and every review thread is resolved. The scope heuristic is explicitly declined because all nine canonical PM owners are linked. Sourcery reported an exhausted review budget, and Greptile did not provide a completed review; neither limitation is treated as approval.
The private GH-1201 receipt was unavailable; compatibility is reproduced using the supported historical writer contract, without asserting its private malformed coordinate. Sentry PM-CLI-2S deployment verification remains separate. The fresh PM-CLI-3A CI event maps to a close/history append failing with ENOENT; its cause is not established from the scrubbed event, so it remains unresolved under pm-3lhth4. A bounded cross-package CI search identified pm-csv run 34014404682: its Node 22 close-overrun fixture cleanup coincides with the event, and its wrapper can leave a child running after the wrapper is terminated. This is a documented candidate requiring reproduction, not a confirmed attribution or justification to suppress the fault. Today's scheduled run 34018707399 failed at that gate on existing main; GH-1209 links the canonical owners. Release reliability is not claimed green while either group remains unresolved. Incompatible major migrations stay with existing owners pm-ksr40d, pm-do5b, and pm-fokyhh.
