Unify item evidence facets and internal command routing - #1240
Conversation
Route comments, notes, learnings, files, docs, dependencies, body append and linked tests through item facets while preserving legacy aliases and stable SDK/MCP operation identities. Keep nested addressing, literal linked-test environments, error recovery and shell completion aligned with the SDK grammar. Move the worker and completion helpers beneath their public parents, hide internal plumbing from default discovery, and preserve explicit/full contract inspection. Correct unsupported worker flags and root item completion; deduplicate canonical recovery candidates without expanding output budgets. Refresh generated contracts and capability documentation, add real CLI and shell acceptance coverage, and update the existing pm-yql1, pm-lp4j and pm-szdc lineage with implementation and validation evidence. Focused regression, temporary-workspace lifecycle, package-consumer, compatibility and required reliability checks passed; complete coverage and static validation remain in progress.
Resolve canonical descendants through the longest declared namespace prefix so file discovery and lookup keep their stable SDK operation and positional contracts. Classify annotation file input identically across canonical and compatibility paths. Ratchet the item namespace at its twenty shared global flags and remove five phantom worker options that were never executable. Preserve all existing help ceilings, add the measured item help surface, retain negative controls, and update generated contracts and focused regressions. Record the immutable September 12 release recovery under the recurring release-health lineage and inline the single-use command rendering wrapper.
Keep operation resolution exact and declare the two nested file paths explicitly. This preserves item IDs in structured help while deriving nested shell completion and stable SDK operation identities from shared aliases. Extend refusal and compatibility census assertions for the new paths and record corrected investigation evidence.
…internal-command-routing
Prioritize exact SDK-declared aliases over fuzzy command recovery matches, with real Commander tests covering canonical evidence paths and typos. Record closure of pm-yql1, pm-lp4j and pm-szdc after 8752 tests with exact 100 percent statement, branch, function and line coverage, full docstring coverage, isolated lifecycle acceptance and packed npm/Bun smoke proof. Generate the unreleased changelog through the published pm-changelog package. Document the separate arbitrary-package tier propagation defect in pm-34xisz and register its recurrence under declared-set governance. Preserve open dependency migration and daily release lineage with current provider evidence.

|
The guide at #1240 (comment) captures the intended facet migration. Two scope clarifications: the actual namespace file is src/cli/command-namespaces.ts, and arbitrary third-party tier propagation remains the explicitly open pm-34xisz follow-up; the covered internal helpers are core and guide-shell identities. The recovery diagram describes the error path rather than every successful invocation. |
|
Acknowledged #1240 (comment): the 11 measured benchmarks are untouched at 804aa7e versus 84280fd. This supports no change within that measured set, rather than a claim about every possible workload. |

I will check canonical alias recovery, nested flag identity, and internal helper discovery.
|
|
The revised walkthrough at #1240 (comment) is acknowledged. Investigation shows exported deps destinations already resolve to item deps through the final alias-derived flatMap; the source seed is misleading and is being aligned. The docstring warning uses a different population from the repository public-surface gate. I found and documented touched private recovery declarations and named scoring callbacks; validation is in progress under pm-yql1. |
|
Acknowledged the completed exact-head review at #1240 (comment). Its single finding is being handled in the actual inline thread, with the source-seed versus exported-contract distinction recorded there. |
|
Acknowledged #1240 (review). The one actionable thread is receiving a source-clarity correction and explicit eight-facet destination parity assertions. Exported destination behavior was already correct, so this is not being described as a runtime repair. Private helper documentation is also being improved; a new push will request review again. |
Move deps into the item consolidation seed so the source agrees with the alias-derived exported destination. Runtime targets were already canonical; regenerate only the destination and positional row ordering in the snapshot. Strengthen all eight facet cases with destination uniqueness and canonical noun, target and owner assertions. Document the private recovery helpers and named scoring callbacks touched by the namespace migration. Record PR1240 review rationale and renewed closure in pm-yql1. The 31 focused tests, build, contracts, lint, docstring and token gates pass; hosted coverage and review run again for this head.

@coderabbitai full review @sourcery-ai review Updated head 42f719c aligns the deps source census seed, adds eight-facet destination assertions and documents six private recovery/scoring declarations. Please review the updated head. Existing exported destination identities remain unchanged. If the touched-function documentation check still finds gaps, please name the declarations so its denominator can be reconciled precisely. |

The revised status at #1240 (comment) retains the prior 804aa7e warning and reports formal-review quota exhaustion. The exact-head static response #1240 (comment) verifies 42f719c, finds no new actionable issue and confirms the six recovery docstrings. Both the inspection result and formal quota limitation remain explicit. The subsequent summary revision only removes the rate-limit panel and refreshes title/description check prose; it introduces no finding. Its remaining 804aa7e documentation warning is superseded for the reviewed recovery path by the explicit 42f719c inspection above. This metadata revision was acknowledged after merge. |
|
Acknowledged the updated 42f719c benchmark report #1240 (comment): all 11 measured benchmarks remain untouched versus 84280fd. |
|
Recorded the rate-limited 804aa7e request at #1240 (comment). That head already received a substantive review; the current head is 42f719c. This reply records availability only and requests no additional review. |
|
Accepted the exact-head static inspection at #1240 (comment): 42f719c has no new actionable finding, destination parity is confirmed, and all six named recovery declarations are documented. Runtime execution is independently covered by the passing hosted checks. The separate formal-review quota limitation is retained; no additional action is requested. |
|
Recorded the empty review envelope #1240 (review). It accompanies the existing inline confirmation and introduces no independent finding or approval; the substantive evidence remains on that resolved thread. |

Recorded the empty review envelope #1240 (review). It accompanies the existing inline confirmation and introduces no independent finding or approval; the substantive evidence remains on that resolved thread. The subsequent empty envelope #1240 (review) accompanies the same resolved-thread confirmation; no new finding was submitted. |
Item evidence previously required eight separate root commands. This change groups comments, notes, learnings, files, docs, dependencies, body append and linked tests under
item, preserving their flags, payloads, compatibility spellings and published SDK/MCP operation identities. Exact declared aliases now precede fuzzy matches in command recovery.item test workerremains available to orchestration and explicit inspection, with its flag contract aligned to the actual handler.completion statuses, completion tagsandcompletion typespreserve legacy output while disappearing from default discovery.Generated contracts, capability routing, grammar inventories and documentation use the same SDK declarations. The changelog is generated by the latest published
pm-changelogpackage.Validation: 679 test files and 8,752 tests passed; statements 64,309/64,309, branches 49,010/49,010, functions 13,363/13,363 and lines 61,597/61,597 (100/100/100/100). Source docstrings 618/618, exported docstrings 4,847/4,847 and member docstrings 8,774/8,774 (100% each). Focused real-Commander recovery tests, real Bash execution, isolated facet lifecycle and history validation, linked PM acceptance, packed npx/bunx smoke and 88-command package-first dogfood passed. Typecheck, token budgets, SDK compatibility, dependency audit, tracked-secret scan and required Sentry/telemetry checks passed. Optional semantic-provider dogfood was not enabled.
A distinct third-party package tier propagation gap is documented in pm-34xisz: arbitrary package-declared internal commands still appear in default runtime contracts. It remains open and unclaimed. The known core and guide-shell helpers covered here have explicit regression proof.
Release incident #1239 recovered through the existing exact-tag workflow; npm and GitHub serve immutable
2026.9.12. pm-7zs0 records that evidence. This PR's product changes await the next eligible daily release.Fresh-clone health passed storage and history-drift checks. Repository graph composition and record-integrity gates passed. Existing advisory history remains visible: seven legacy hierarchy conflicts and 170 historical resolution warnings; this PR does not claim those are repaired. The new package-tier recurrence is registered under the existing declared-set policy, which selects checks without claiming the follow-up fix is complete.
