Context reads can currently repeat blocked active work and lose the next row, omit a legacy prerequisite, round 29/200 completions down to 14%, and recommend an unsupported cursor flag. This change keeps those decision inputs consistent through the SDK, CLI, and MCP.

  • Confine active blocked work to the selected producer page while retaining lifecycle-blocked companions and truthful delivered counters.
  • Resolve persisted depends_on through the shared relationship registry without rewriting source or history.
  • Share integer-first half-up completion rounding across structured and Markdown progress.
  • Let public cursor primitives name --after or --cursor; return executable deps recovery that preserves tracker scope, traversal, and output policy. Preserve unrelated errors.
  • Document and snapshot the optional SDK arguments. Strengthen mutation assertions, retain the same seven justified equivalents, and raise the score floor to 345/352 (98.01136363636364%).

PM lineage: pm-h5ko1l, pm-ohgg1b, pm-0luwp4, pm-r2xv95. All tracker changes use the CLI. All four implementation leaves are closed and released with atomic expected/actual evidence. The latest pm-changelog package generates the four new changelog entries. The discovered native-watch liveness observation is queued separately as pm-apjlc4, open and unclaimed.

Validation: four intended pre-fix behavioral failures; passing real-tracker SDK/CLI/MCP regressions, neighboring rounding controls, Node/Bun packed continuation, four-way published workspace compatibility, typecheck, declaration/contracts checks, and bounded mutation. The full local run passed 10,823 tests and failed one existing governance latency assertion (10.178s against its unchanged 10s ceiling); it produced no coverage summary. The unchanged timing case passes in the focused instrumented run of 124 tests. Partial diagnostic coverage is not full-source coverage. Implementation head 7ba76fd6ce2d43937e0c490343e8c9e195d7a82c passed every required hosted check: exact coverage is 66,214/66,214 lines, 69,818/69,818 statements, 14,387/14,387 functions and 53,652/53,652 branches. Hosted static quality, all packed runtime acceptance and both exact-head analyzers passed. The review-expanded fixture preserves the original reproducer and checks two blocked active rows plus one actionable row with page sizes one and two through all three interfaces. Final-head checks and reviews cover that test improvement and the reviewed closure data.

Operational verification: latest pm-changelog 2026.10.19-1 passes its configured check; no generator workaround. Today's existing v2026.10.20 release passes fresh npm/Bun installed sessions, npx/bunx and both MCP transports. This PR is for the next eligible daily cut. Security alert inventories, dependency audit and secret scan are clear. Dependency cooldown/major migrations and historical Release Reliability remain documented under their existing owners. Fresh Sentry spans and matching telemetry reads, queue drainage, and six healthy Prometheus targets are verified separately.

Final review: head d74f942df30e3b810f9c07df0f026e6c551877bc has 38 successful checks, two neutral and two skipped optional contexts, with no failed or pending required checks. CodeFactor and DeepScan both report zero new issues on that exact commit. CodeRabbit verified the expanded regression coverage and its sole thread is resolved; its final-head automatic review has no new findings. The explicit re-review request was rate-limited. Sourcery and Cubic exhausted their free budgets, and Greptile reports an ended trial; these unavailable reviews are limitations, not approvals.

Closes #1510
Closes #1511
Closes #1512

…r recovery

Keep active blocked work inside its selected producer page so an unchanged
cursor walk returns every active row once. Retain lifecycle-blocked companion
detail and final delivered-row counters.

Resolve persisted relationship aliases through the shared registry in the
actionability primitive. Reuse integer-first half-up completion arithmetic
across focus, progress, and Markdown hierarchy projections.

Allow shared cursor decoders to name the actual producer flag and return a
scope-preserving executable deps retry. Preserve traversal and output policy,
discard invalid continuations, and propagate unrelated failures unchanged.
Document the optional SDK arguments and acknowledge their declaration changes.

Add real-tracker SDK, CLI, and MCP regression proof for GH-1509 through GH-1512.
Strengthen default cursor refusal assertions, preserve all seven equivalent
mutants, and raise the measured mutation floor to 345/352 (98.01136363636364%).

Track implementation and evidence under pm-h5ko1l, pm-ohgg1b, pm-0luwp4, and
pm-r2xv95. Preserve the failed full local run's unchanged governance latency
assertion separately from passing focused and operational verification.

Reviewer's Guide

Fixes cross-interface context decisions by keeping paged active work and delivered counters consistent, canonicalizing legacy blocker relationships without persistence changes, applying shared half-up completion rounding, and adding producer-aware cursor recovery with executable dependency-query retries; SDK contracts, tests, documentation, mutation baselines, and PM tracking are updated accordingly.

Assessment against linked issues

Issue Objective Addressed Explanation
#1509 Resolve persisted legacy depends_on relationships as canonical blocked_by edges when building deep context blocker details, using the shared relationship registry without modifying source files or history. ✅
#1509 Add a real-tracker CLI regression covering a persisted legacy depends_on edge and verifying that deep context recovers the prerequisite identity and status. ✅
#1510 Make relationship-packet cursor refusal guidance use the supported --cursor flag rather than --after, and provide a usable recovery query that removes the rejected cursor. ✅
#1510 For malformed and stale relationship cursors, provide an executable fresh-query recovery command that preserves relevant scope, traversal, and output options. ✅
#1510 Test cursor refusal guidance and recovery against the flags accepted by the relationship-packet command. ✅
#1511 Ensure blocked active work does not get reinserted across context pages, so a complete producer-cursor walk returns each focus row exactly once and final-page counters describe the delivered rows. ✅
#1512 Use an explicit decimal half-up rule for count-based completion percentages so 29 closed children out of 200 reports 15%, consistently wherever context progress is presented. ✅
#1512 Add real-tracker CLI coverage for the 29/200 rounding boundary and verify consistent percentages in structured context and Markdown output. ✅

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added clearer recovery guidance for invalid or outdated query cursors, including support for both standard and relationship-specific pagination.
    • Context results now preserve relevant active items when earlier work is blocked and include applicable lifecycle details without duplicates.
    • Dependency recovery now provides executable retry options while preserving selected traversal and output settings.
    • Completion percentages now use nearest-whole rounding consistently across context, progress, and Markdown views.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Improved recognition of legacy dependency relationship aliases.
    • Corrected progress calculations for fractional completion values.

The changes adjust context pagination and blocker resolution, standardize completion-percentage rounding, and add producer-specific cursor recovery for relationship queries. They also add tests, documentation, SDK surface records, PM issue histories, a dependency intake entry, and release verification records.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

The changes address all four active linked coding targets. #1509 uses the shared canonical relationship resolver and adds a persisted depends_on regression that checks SDK, CLI, MCP, source-file, and history preservation. #1510 adds --cursor-aware recovery and tests malformed and mismatched cursors with scope-preserving retry arguments. #1511 fixes producer-page selection and verifies a complete SDK, CLI, and MCP cursor walk returns both rows once with correct receipts. #1512 applies integer-first half-up rounding and verifies 29/200 as 15% across structured progress and Markdown. The reported unchanged governance timing failure does not identify a failure in these linked requirements.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 82.35% which is sufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 17 functions across 9 files. (16 skipped: 16 unsupported.)

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The pull request description directly matches the changeset. It describes context pagination, dependency alias resolution, completion rounding, cursor recovery, SDK updates, tests, and validation evidence reflected in the modified files.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The implementation, tests, SDK contract updates, documentation, and mutation baseline support #1509–#1512. The reported changes to .agents/pm/issues/pm-prrlce.toon, .agents/pm/history/pm-prrlce.jsonl, and the related release-verification record concern release operations, not these four context defects. The .agents/pm/epics/pm-u9d0.toon governance and dependency census update is also not required by the linked coding objectives.

Resolution

Remove the unrelated pm-prrlce release-verification changes and the pm-u9d0 governance/dependency-census changes from this pull request, or move them to a separate tracking pull request.

Retain the original two-row cursor reproducer and add two active blocked rows
plus an actionable row. Walk one-row and two-row pages through SDK, CLI, and
MCP, checking complete unique membership and each delivered blocked counter
without prescribing the blocked rows' relative relevance rank.

Close and release pm-h5ko1l, pm-ohgg1b, pm-0luwp4, and pm-r2xv95 with atomic
expected and actual evidence from the accepted implementation head, exact
100/100/100/100 hosted coverage, cross-runtime checks, analyzers, focused
regressions, and bounded mutation. Preserve failed local receipts as failures.

Generate the four new changelog entries with the latest pm-changelog package.
Queue the observed native check-watcher liveness problem under pm-apjlc4 as
open and unclaimed, preserving the completed predecessor's narrower scope.
