The frontend always returned an emotion selected by upload size and random confidence, even when Streamlit health passed. Its API now returns explicit HTTP503 until actual speech inference exists, validates missing/text/empty/malformed uploads with400, and stops storing uploaded audio or inventing processing times. Show service availability and the actual error inline; remove generated random feature importance.
Validation: 5 endpoint regressions pass using real Request/FormData and NextResponse; original endpoint fails4 of these5 tests including200 fabricated emotion versus required503. Existing offline Python suite30 passes. Tested with reused Next14.2.30/TypeScript5.8.3 and additionally Next15.5.27/TypeScript5.9.3, not a clean install of pinned14.2.0. Page/route TSX/TS parse passes; git diff --check clean. Full frontend build/browser interaction and hostedVercel deployment remain unverified. This is an integrity repair, not a working live speech model.
Local tested commit includes existing Python#3 head60fb498; frontend delta is disjoint from#1/#2/#3. Root can publish the delta on a separate branch/currentmain and rerun the scoped tests or keep it stacked until existing Python changes merge.
